no

I'm pretty sure that these guys are WHQL candidates though, so they might be re-released as WHQL some time in the near future.

I think the difference is in the AA and AF, although the AF still doesn't look right in my games. I am playing SOF2 at 1024x768x32 with Qncunx AA and 2x AF on at a constant 90 FPS (my cap limit). I can even play Americas Army with these settings, although not at 90 FPS. WC3 doesn't stutter in the middle of a huge battle as much with these settings either.

Great drivers IMO. I don't have solid numbers but I do know that I wasn't able to play with the above settings before.

BTW, this is on a Ti 4200 64 mb @ 275/550.

Nvidia is caught cheating with the new driver!!!!
geez, I'm a die hard nvidia fan, but this one makes me disappointed. go to this korean website to see the benchmark of the new driver (43.45):
http://www.darkcrow.co.kr/Review/Review_Content.asp?board_idx=146

and then see, that the dirvers that perform best in the 2003 nature games somehow does not display all the images it should be (see the light behind the tree. To see the picture comparison directly go to:

now i'm sure that 3dmark is actually a valid benchmark, as long as the graphic company does not produce driver that "corrupts" bits and pieces of the image quality. maybe when they release what so called "optimized driver for 3dmark 2003", they tr to test if ppl caught them cheating, but they didn't. so they finally released a final driver and incorporating the "cheat"
btw, i couldnt tried it myself as i only own g4Ti.

Hmmmm, it looks like it is the 43.03 picture that is having the problem here. That driver was not released by NVidia and I think in your zeal to find a crime you may have just identified why the 43.03 wasn't an official release. (that blur of light is not present in the other two displays.)

-Sid

I have no way of knowing the 'truth' of any of these rumors. But I will say I installed the latest NVidia released drivers (43.45) and am enjoying stability and performance up to my expectations)

hello insidious,
look at the reference screenshot shown in the website.
the light is supposed to be there.
and then look at the image quality of the 2 drivers that performs best (in term of speed)
the 2 drivers that didn display the light perform miracously best

Shagga,
I too have XP with SP1 installed, however no problems with any Nvidia drivers and that combo, you`re probably better of reinstalling XP and SP1 and see if it clears it up.

Thanks Mem, but I have done this at least 3 or 4 times but to no avail. :(
Well then IMHO despite what you think it is if it's not Windows + SP1 (since 1000s of people have Windows + SP1 + NV Driver Updates working, and you've tried reinstalling) it MUST be a Hardware or Driver issue. Either that or it's all in your head and it really does work. Have you tested your RAM?

Thorin

It could be a HARDWARE issue but the problem never existed before SP1 was installed. Thats not to say that the Graphics card problem has developed since the installation of SP1. I have tested the memory also and no errors were reported.

Shagga there`s a few things you can try, minimal install of hardware, try a different Nvidia card and see if the problem still appears, also move ram to different slots, try different ram, play with BIOS settings, even try a different HD,it has to be either software or hardware problem so you just have to rule out all possible options one at a time.

I will try a differnent nVidia card I have an old GF3 knocking about somewhere. All my RAM slots are filled and have tried different combinations including reducing the amount and also tried different ram too. I have just put a new HD in but the problem appeared before this so its prolly not that. It seems to happen when I'm in IE just browsing. I'll click on a link and it crashes and the good 'ol BSOD appears.

Thanks anyway I'll get there in the end. :)
