It's the nV way.

Never release anything official.

If there are problems, z0mg, it's the beta drivers, can't blame us

Go back to using the last official set from like...half a year ago :p

ATi drivers > nV drivers for a long time now; people are finally just seeing it now.

Then again, they're having their fair share of issues with newer games not doing so well w/o hotfixes, etc, so really, we can't win i don't think :p

ATI drivers have there problems too. Personally I'm waiting for crippled MoH:A performance fix for Vista.

That hasn't stopped people from posting on every forum I look about how it runs bad on this or that config.

Sure it has. B3D and others are following Cryteks wishes. Removing posts, or editing them to take out such material.

http://www.incrysis.com/index....ntent&task=view&id=470

On behalf of Crytek and EA we ask you to not post any content if you signed up for the Beta. It is a closed event and is covered by a NDA you have accepted during the sign-up process. Posting screenshots, videos or other internal information from the Beta is a violation of the NDA and will cause in an immediate and permanent ban from the Beta program.

As a Fan & Community Site we ask you to monitor your forums and chime in when necessary. Also please do not post any news on your site that includes internal information from the Beta. Even though the interest from the public audience in such an event is greater than expected, we still do not want to see internal information on a public forum or web site.

It wouldnt be wise to post pics, videos, or anything else. Trying to look cool in front of someone you (not your per say) dont even know is pointless, and can get AT in trouble. Just as you arent allowed to post pics of magazines.

Well, I see alot of people posting screenshots all the time. I must say, none of them really look great. Then, I don't care about MP much. I'll have Ut3 for that. I want crysis for the campaign.

Crippled you say? It's only at the resolution you're trying to use. I'm on 1280x1024 and average 50fps with everything maxed. Although, the game really looks pretty pitiful IMO. It's a typical EA release. Not putting the UT3 engine to good use at all.

Compared to the 69 fps legion hardware is boasting at 1920x1200, I would call my 25 fps at that same resolution crippled.

At 1920x1200 with medium settings, I get around 50fps which isnt bad, but every 30 seconds or so I drop into single digit FPS for about 10 seconds and then it goes straight back to 50 fps.

I also dropped the resolution to 1680x1050 and the same thing occurs and I hardly get a boost in FPS.

Either MoH:A is the most CPU dependent game in history, or ATI's drivers are borked.

They were on XP and remember they had a much more powerful system overall.

1) I know they were on XP which is why i know for a fact that my terrible performance is ATI drivers + Vista issue.

2) They were using an undeniably better system with a C2D @ 3.4GHZ or something. However, at 1920x1200 the game should be GPU limited. This has been proven time and time again. I think it was FiringSquad that compared AMD DC CPUs to C2D's and the difference was less than 5 fps at high resolutions.

Why is this stuff also not deleted? Also where can I read what was deleted so as to monitor site bias?

Actually thinking if I had a card that would not play the game I liked, would just get a new one and not bring it up every second thread. In my mind off the original subject.

edit: Hard to know what when it is deleted.

That is completely assinine. I should buy a new card because ATI can't write Vista drivers as competently as they do XP? MoH:A performs flawlessly in XP, but sucks the big one in Vista. Clearly a driver issue that needs immediate attention from the ATI driver team.

Also, my post was not so off topic as you think. My original post in this thread was in response to:

Although he did acknowledge the fact that ATI has been ahving problems, I just can't get over the fact that everyone puts ATI's drivers up on this holier than thou pedastool.

ATI is slow to correct glaring driver issues regarding performance. While my 2900XT does not crash and do all the other things people bitch about Nvidia drivers doing, but performance increases just dont come regularly. In fact, in some cases (Cat 7.8) ATI actually manages to lower performance.

I bought the 2900XT under the premise that ATI had a great driver team and performance would increase over time. This has not been the case and I have my doubts that it will ever happen.

Honestly?

They're both crap.

But i see a lot more complaints over various forums with nV's drivers these days than ATi's.

And their stupid never-release-official-drivers BS has angered me for years now, since it's always a goddamn gambling game with trying leaked or beta drivers.
It was this way with my 6800 GTs...& now, how many years later, it's the same garbage.

Sure, ATi has problems, but at least they have official sets, so we're not effing around with leaked crap or betas all the time.

I guess i like the monthly releases system a ton better, as you know they're doing something.

The guessing game we have to play with nV's betas & leaked crap annoys the hell outta me, since the official drivers get updated a few times a year, that's about all, meaning we're always trying to find the best beta/leaked set.

I can definitely see where you're coming from.

While I like the fact that I get a monthly driver from ATI, it sometimes backfires on me. If I'm looking for a specific fix and it doesnt come in the monthly driver, I have to wait a whole month to see if they fix my issue. That's what just happened with the 7.9 drivers. I was hoping for improved performance in MoH:A, but the release notes dont even mention the game, let alone fix my performance issue.

Since I only really play one or two games at a time, I guess I wouldnt mind seeing different beta drivers that are geared towards specific games. That's the one thing I like about Nvidia's beta drivers.

Really really dumb question... would installing these help someone who is say running a 7800GT under win xp... and is using drivers that start with a '9'? And what about another xp machine with a 6800GT running drivers that start with a '7'...

*Ahem*... it's been a while since I have updated...

Damn I need a new GPU.

Your games crash because you're using Vista. My friend has the same problems. Upgrading to the last beta drivers before these just REDUCED the crashes. Maybe these will do more... I'll tell him to upgrade this weekend.

Everything that was deleted was about illegal aliens, ronnn. It has absolutely nothing to do with the thread topic, or even this forum. So whatever was in those posts is nothing to be concerned about.
Did you think there was something else in those posts?
