"new/NIB" but sus packaging (imho)?

So I got this sealed NIB networking gear (D-Link WAP) off eBay from a very reputable and communicative seller/business, but it came in with what I thought was sus packaging (one of the sticker seals, while technically perfectly sealed, was applied twice, meaning one sticker directly on top of the other... very odd).

They sent me a free replacement, but this time, both sides of the box have the problem (2 stickers superimposed, on each side of the box, so 4 total stickers). Super weird, no?

Like, is this just some weird packaging glitch? Or is it a sign of a refurb or something?

EDIT: if you need pics, let me know.

There is usually a new serial number on return gear. Check the box

The serial numbers seem original print, but the UPC codes are covered over with stickers, but aren't unique and are just UPC codes.

Here is one of the boxes ("good" side followed by "bad" side):

Just seems super sus to me.

But is the bottom sticker damaged? I feel like the boxes electronics come in are generally hard to open without inducing some sort of damage as you cut open stickers.

It's not "stuck" onto the surface with the same consistency as the other, better sticker (first pic).

And the other box (I didn't post pics) has damage a bit on either side, yeah.

I started a return/refund with eBay, whatever.

usually refurb gear get a different UPC sticker as well, try to google the upc

Shows up as the product, nothing about a refurb. Just too sus to me though.

Wireless N? At this point, it's kind of meaningless whether it's NIB unless you somehow overpaid.
This is ancient gear and the warranty ended a decade ago.

If it's cheap enough (and it should be), and what you wanted to buy in the first place, I'd use it if it looks pristine. Technically it could still be NIB even though the seal was replaced. Sticklers could argue that is new, open-box and they would be correct.

From various search results of dLink pages:

DAP-1360 high-PerformAnce wireless networking wireless n rAnge eXtenDer ... release 01 (february 2013)

So, I guess it depends on how you define 'new'.

N does the job I need (barely). And I got it for cheap. Plus, the actual unit looks cool to me. Not like the weird looking stuff they sell nowadays (often a contoured or "stylish" white box that tries too hard not to be seen, or a box with a bajillion antennas sticking out of it, all of which look like individual abstract pieces of art with the weird shapes).

And the word is either 'suspect' or 'suspicious'.

This sounds sus to me.

idk, my Asus RT-AX3000 looks perfectly normal to me, and blends in easily with my stereo equipment under my TV. Also, nothing wrong with having external antennas, given that it is supposed to be sending and receiving wireless signals.

OP, the NSA is intercepting it so they can snoop on you. You been making terrorist threats? Selling secrets to the Chinese? Or maybe the FBI, been doing that and also are a white supremacist and/or waggy/Ars'DrPizza CSAM?

Buying irrelevant tech from decade plus ago and using the term "sus"
