BTW, can anyone tell what is this SMBUS? What does it do? I googled for it but came up with the threads related with intel.

I installed 5.10, and my startup times have increased a LOT. The WinXP (SP2) loading bar freezes for about 30 seconds now. Previously, my windows would load in between 10-15 seconds. Now it's closer to 45 seconds - 1 minute. Not an extremely terrible thing, but anyone know why it's doing this?
My startup time is something stupid like 8 minutes. Plus the system won't resume from suspend at all. I think it has something to do with the IDE driver. How do I reverse this POS?

Confirmed, it's the IDE driver. I uninstalled it a long time ago and installed the old IDE driver. Just go add/remove programs, and you'll have the option of partial uninstall.

I didn't have the problems you guys had with the newer IDE drivers, but I did decide to stick with SW-IDE 2.5 for the rest of this board's life. The performance is excellent, I have no problems with optical drives working properly, and the system doesn't hang during shutdown at all.

Uninstalled the new IDE driver and the problems went away. Installed the older IDE driver, and it still works fine.

However, I noticed that my (secondary slave) CD-RW runs in PIO mode. Must be something goofy with the drive (as it used to act up a lot). I'm almost due for a DVD writer anyway.
