The extra distance should also make it easier to block the kick, which gives the defense more incentive to play hard during the kick.
IMO, this is what is most interesting about this rule change.

You call moving the ball 60 yards a failure?
That's what I think will happen. Part of the problem with a 2pt conversion is that you have everyone packed in so close to the end zone that there are defenders everywhere. You can't swing a dead cat w/o hitting one.If it encourages more 2 point conversion attempts, I'm a fan. Anything to change the monotony of NFL football. Pass, pass, pass, penalty for defensive pass interference, pass, pass, 1 yd run for first down, pass, pass, TD, kick automatic extra point.
32 yard FG attempts are rarely blocked. The ball is long snapped, I believe 17 yards back, and the kicker takes like two steps before kicking it with decent elevation. There is simply not enough time for the defense to get there. Longer kicks get blocked because the kicker has to flatten the trajectory to get more distance, but I don't think that's much of a factor at 32 yards.
I really believe this is mostly not going to matter, and when it does, it will matter because a team has a gutsy comeback ruined by a PAT kick that is not blocked, but pushed wide or something.
