everything is stock

...lately i guess i need more ram. But i'm not sure if the cosair value ram are doing its job on my pc...

its got 2x512 got it off neweggs

those. the timing seems fine, but playing counter strike source and running teamspeak. it crashes/freezes..and everytime i tab out of game in steam i get an engine error..maybe i'm running low on memory? it lags a little while exiting the game as well. maybe 1 gig of ram isn't all that popular nowadays?

If i was to upgrade ram, what do you guys recommand? willing to spend 200-250 max.

ding ding ding! PSU is an often overlooked but essential component of the system. Post the specs of your power supply and run memtest to validate the ram overnight.
 
thats a very nice PSU indeed-thats not the prob.

please search google, there is so much there, a simple search will find you pretty much anything, INCLUDING memorytest.
