The final beta of Netscape is out here.

Please, no "netscape sucks" comments -- if you don't like it or don't use it, that's fine. I'd like to know if anyone has played with this one, and if so, if it's any more stable than the previous versions.

Any info?

Not to poop on your thread or anything, but if you want to use Netscape-ish browser, use mozilla. It has the same engine as Netscape's browser, and it comes without all that other junk that netscape tries to stuff down your throat.

Just a suggest.

Holy Improvement Batman!

I'm not sure how stable it is yet, but the completely re-designed
interface looks about 100x better than the last preview release
and Netscape has also added an un-installer. Will report back
later.

I will put what I put on my webpage about Netscape:

"I don't care if this site doesn't look right in Netscape. I really don't." "And I'm not ever checking to see if it does. Try using a browser instead."

However if the new netscape is all new, and really does include an uninstaller, I guess I will check it out.

Set phazers to dissapointment!

[/b]AWESOME!!!!!!!Its sweet! Holy cow! The install was excellent! I am really really impressed by the Linux install process, now do I dare use the WinXX version? Much better looking, and better functionality of features for Linux version.............woohoo. BTW, the install is idiot proof, for the WinXX users I guess, very close to the same install process for I.E. 5.x.

Sounds good, I'm gonna go give it a quick whirl. The previous 'preview' releases were complete and total crap, so I'm not anticipating much, but hey, it's worth a try :)

Tagej,
By asking us not to post those dumb comments, you are tempting us to! By the way, Netscape does suck

I will have a screen shot of the Linux version up on server in a little while, meanwhile I would say that the PR1 and 2 were great on Linux, don't know about WinXX as I had PR1 for a short while on Win98 and didnt think much of it.

Looks kinda gaudy...at least the default skin.

I am very satisfied w/ IE 5.5

I dont like how people think something looks like a mac program just because it looks nice, slick, and not like dog poop. Can't more things come out nice looking for a pc system like the new netscape.

Well for the uninitiated the screenshots are of the Linux version, and there isnt IE for Linux so...............Netscape 6 PR3 is by far the best browser yet. :) I might even try loading this on Win98 and W2K.......

I just tried it and the look is much better but it seems kind of sluggish. They also need to make it to where you can make the toolbar smaller like in IE.

Hmmmm, a definite improvement. I kinda like this one. At least it allows you to customize all sorts of stuff, and it also allows you to get rid of all the distracting crap there was in the earlier versions. I think they did a good job with this, but there's still a few buys in there.... they have some work to do to make it bug-free.

Overall this is the best netscape yet, and it seems to work a lot faster for me (on win2k) than the old netscape 4.75.

I had to uninstall it because I could not deal with the slow performance. I will try the next version though as it seems they are on their way back to a good browser.
