Ok, here's the deal. Sometime within the next week or so, I'm getting a new neighbor right next door (townhouse building). All I know so far is that she's single and about my age (25) which is a big improvement over the 48yr. old divorced, kinda weird guy living there now. Obviously, I'm hoping she's cool and very hot, or maybe has some nice friends...

So I'm wondering two things:
1) Should I bring some sort of welcome to the neighborhood/housewarming gift?
2) If so, what kind of gift should it be?
 
Well, the guy said he was moving out and she was moving in by the end of the month.

I haven't seen her yet, so a little hard to post pics.

Good idea... I was going to say one of those baskets of artsy cookies... but I think a nice plate of assorted brownies would be better. Don't make them yourself or she'll think you're homosexual and befriend you as "one of the girls."

OH! And BE SURE to bring them on one of your dinner plates so she has to come to YOUR door to return the plate! 😀

yea, but then, if she is a hot bitch, she might sue you because she got a stomach ache from those brownies...
 
Since it's somebody you don't know AT ALL I'd go for the bottle of wine (something in the $25-35 range) or maybe a small houseplant etc as someone else suggested. You don't want to come off as creepy, just neighborly.

Be careful trying to hook up with the girl next door, especially if she BOUGHT the place.. you two could be neighbors for a long long time.
