The player is small. Only 2.3" long. It uses a single AA (NOT AAA!!!) battery, so that's a negative in my mind. Also, the USB cable is proprietary. Why?. All I want is a 512 MB flash player that is small, runs on a AAA, and doubles as a thumbdrive (or at least uses a standard USB cable)...it needs to sound good and cost around $100. Is that too much to ask?

Too pricey? It's less than the shuffle. The 512 can be found for <$100Originally posted by: spwango

Look good, but too pricey for 512...someone needs to come up with the shuffle killer--I just don't see it yet.

I'm sure the cheap earbuds that come w/ the iPod shuffle will bring out the "superior" sound nicely.

ZipZoomFly.com has the Creative MuVo Micro N200 1GB MP3 Player for $125 with free shipping. All I know is that it uses a cable instead of the built in plug, don't know if it's standardized or not.
