Does anyone have this player? Do you recommend it or do you recommend something else? Most of my use is for going to the gym or on runs.

I saw this thing in the bestbuy yesterday and started looking for more info. Man, it's tiny! This may be exactly what I'm looking for. I'd like to understand if it is a thumbdrive or cable only. The spec sheet says it comes with "Direct USB adaptor" and a USB cable. It's less than 2.5" long, 1" thick.

So, I did find a review: http://www.overclockersonline.com/index.php?page=articles&num=257

The player is small. Only 2.3" long. It uses a single AA (NOT AAA!!!) battery, so that's a negative in my mind. Also, the USB cable is proprietary. Why?. All I want is a 512 MB flash player that is small, runs on a AAA, and doubles as a thumbdrive (or at least uses a standard USB cable)...it needs to sound good and cost around $100. Is that too much to ask?

Well, I don't know that it is, truthfully. I use my current Mp3 player (Intel Pocket Concert, 128MB) in the gym for an hour a day. I don't really need forty hours of battery life. I need something that is small and non annoying when hanging around my neck or in my shirt pocket...the assumption is that the AA battery will way signifigantly more than the AAA. I'm still considering this...I'm far more concerned with the non-standard USB cable than I am the AA, honestly.

Look good, but too pricey for 512...someone needs to come up with the shuffle killer--I just don't see it yet.

Wow, that looks pretty sweet. I may wind up going in for one of those instead of an iPod Shuffle. Of course, it is only a matter of time before a Shuffle with a screen and whatnot is released.

Too pricey? It's less than the shuffle. The 512 can be found for <$100

get a flash iriver instead. better sound quality. encodes to mp3 for voice, fm, line-in. better radio reception. comparable price. standard usb connector (what's the point of samsung using proprietary connector?). the only question is if you're willing to sacrifice those for smaller size. but if that is the case, then get ipod shuffle since it's smaller but has great sound quality

I've seriously considered the shuffle, but I'm quite worried as to how much I'll enjoy that a year down the road when the LION battery has half the life :/

Thanks for the opinions all...

(For the record, after looking at it again, I think that is a standard MiniUSB cable. If that's the case, that may be my mp3 player afterall)

Wallyworld is selling the Muvo Micro N200 512MB for $100 on their website. I have no issues with the form factor on this one--anyone play with it before? Does it ship with a standard USB or mini USB cable? Thanks.

ZipZoomFly.com has the Creative MuVo Micro N200 1GB MP3 Player for $125 with free shipping. All I know is that it uses a cable instead of the built in plug, don't know if it's standardized or not.

Yeah, I saw that too...that's a hot deal for a 1GB player of any type. I plan on swinging by the local retailers to see if I can't actually see one and going this route. I like the Samsung form factor better, honestly, but I haven't read much bad about this thing and the price is awesome.
