it seems nice enough and HardOCP loves it

what anoyes the hell out of me is the new thumb button placements
http://www.hardocp.com/image.html?image=MTAzMzg0OTE2OWdZM2R3bzlsMkhfMV8yX2wuanBn

the older mice had the thumb button at the bottom of the mouse where your thumb rests most of the time and you didnt have to move the thumb to push it, now its at the top like on the Microsoft Explorerers and you have to totaly change your thumb position to press it.

seems like a perfect mouse apart from this

Ah, i have also noticed this "defect (imo)"

On my mouseman wheel i ALWAYS used the double click button for anything w/double clicking, yet with my explorer 3.0, i just can't get used to using it, because it involves almost more work then just double clicking the left button (relatively of course)

I use the buttons for gaming, but thats just cuz i need more functions, if i could double click in quake for a function i probably would.

Get the new mouse by the way...slick looking:D

It's almost 3 years of junk building up on it.... I tried cleaning it! I like the mouse too much to replace it, let alone haven't found one that feels good.

get the one I have

I had the one you have before I replaced it with a blue one

the scroll wheel doesn't work as well with the new mouseware... in fact, it sucks! and the mouse doestn't light up. and i can't figure out what to do with all these buttons (except for the scroll buttons, those are alright). and the third mouse button is two buttons! i might return this and go back to the mouseman optical.

I like the thumb button of those old mouseman+ mice. I have a few of them as well. Problem is they have balls! All mice should be castrated! :)

Second, the blue one while being optical (it's already discontinued!) the wheel sucks! Ever take one of these apart? The wheel that uses the plastic pin and detent has a crappy feel. The wheel that uses a spring inside the detent has a distinct click that is much better.

I'm using a MX700 currently and up to about three hours ago worked great. Very smooth mouse! You cannot tell it's cordless. The reason why I can't use it now is because the power supply went bezerk and the wire got so hot that it melted the corner of the mouse! The mouse still lights up but the computer cannot detect it. It will be replaced tomorrow. :)

Cheers!
