New motherboard and processer affect ping times?

I currently have a PII400 and am about to upgrade to a AMD 1333 with DDR. Will this improve ping times at al on a DSL system?
 
No. It doesn't make a very material difference. Pings are a function of the network, not of your motherboard and processor.
