I just replaced my Shuttle AK-37GT2 motherboard (based on KT333 chipset) with a Shuttle AN35N-Ultra motherboard (based on the nForce2 Ultra 400 chipset), and also replaced my Mushkin PC-2700 with a 512MB stick of Kingston HyperX PC4000.
I had just reinstalled Windows XP 2 weeks ago. I ran the Windows XP setup and used the repair option. The computer will still not boot into Windows, it gets to the part where it asks if I want to start normally or safe mode, completes the white progress bar, then locks up.
Do I need to completely re-install Windows after switching the motherboard, or should the repair option work? If the repair option should work, any other thoughts as to what might be happening?
I'm running at 166MHZ FSB (not overclocked), and using the optimal bios settings. The splash screen says that the memory is running at 400MHZ. I am letting the bios determine the ram timings from the SPD. Do I possibly need to adjust the ram settings or something like that?
I'm sorry I don't have more specific information, I'm posting from work from memory.
