The ad says till 9/14 on the back, but only like 1% of the time does microcenter change the ad for the second half of the month. The other 99% of the time, the new ad for the second half of the month is the same as the first half of the month with the new expiration date of the end of the month changed.

The Daewoo 17" LCD bears some attention if the specs are true. It confirms DVI presence on the specpage, but then states the panel has a 20ms refresh rate. I've heard of 16 (even 14) and 25ms, but never 20 flat...if true, it's one helluva display for 330 bucks plus tax. BUT, it doesn't COME with a DVI-D cable, and MC charges a pretty penny for them. I'd consider getting the cable online.

As usual, Lexar seems to have made a glut of the 256MB JumpDrive 2.0 Pros and is clearing them out. 49.99 isn't bad since this is the fastest keydrive I've tested thus far. ~4.5 writes/~6 reads. Beats the hell out of a floppy.

The 10 pack of 16-24X CD-R/W media is a good price, especially considering no rebates are involved. 24X is the highest AVAILABLE CD-R/W speed - 32X drives are out but the media is nonexistent commercially. Plus, you MUST have an "Ultra Speed" rated CD-R/W to use these. As mentioned previously, that's a CD-R/W capability to write 16-24X discs - If you're packing a 4/8/10/12 speed CD-R/W mechanism (re: NOT CD-R or CD-ROM), these discs won't cut it in your burner. I can't confirm whether they'll work in the new crop of 32Xs, but I'd put my money on the "no" pile.

For 179.99, the DVR-105 isn't particularly well-priced considering the 106 isn't that much more expensive and is dual-format.

I don't trust Centon RAM, but there are some damn fine deals on that this month - as there are EVERY month @ MC.

All in all, not a very impressive ad this month, I'm disappointed - there's been a glut ever since they did the 20% off Digital Cameras promo over. I hope they bring the 20% off ATI/Various Other Brands promo back in time for the R360 and R400 - some people scored 9700 Pro and AIWs for decent prices after PMs to other stores.

The Overnight AA Battery Charger that includes 4AA and 1800MAH Batteries for $6.99 is a good deal. (Last page)

Also, The inland 6 in 1 Reader/Writer USB for $9.99 is a good deal also.

Still trying to find the "Hot" part of this ad? I look at the link and look through the pages and do not see anything worth buying...

no one said buying the products AT microcenter is hot.

Microcenter prices usually give rise to some nice pricematching ability.

The 92 CD holder is a good deal. I returned the 48 cd holder from a month ago because the 92 was better priced. The 48 was $0.08/cd holder, the 92 is $0.07 :). Its Case Logic as well :).

The Cat5 cable is a LOT better priced that CompUSA (compusa is $1/foot), but its not as good as 2 months ago.

I went instore to check out the Daewoo 19" montiro, which was $500 AR last month as well. They were running it at 1024x768 cause they have one of those mutlivideo out boxes that hooks up 10 other monitors to one computer. And some of them were 15" LCD's with max res 1024x768. So i upped it to 1600x1200 to make it he native, thus putting the 15 and 17" LCD's out of range. Even at the native res it was blurry.

That ATX Case WITH 400W PSU is hot. $30 for the case AND PSU. Hell, if you look at the acutal ad, to the right of the picture of the case listed at $30, they have a picture of a PSU, $40 for the 400W PSU alone.

Theres a FAR 10/100 NIC, which is kinda standard today :).
5 port switch for $5 AR.
$40 AR for the IOMagic DVD/CDRW combo drive is the cheapest around. The best i was able to find was like $60-$70.

Im looking at the full circular now, which has 36 pages not listed online...lol...like usual...

Heres what i can find thats any good...

Gigafast 10/100 32bit PCMCIA NIC w/ Dongle - $5 A25R (after $25 rebate)
SMC C/D Router w/ 4 port switch - $20 A20R.
7ft CAT5 - $7
14ft CAT5 - $9.09
25ft CAT5 - $11.19
Gigafast 11mbps 2.4ghz PCMCIA card - $20 A20R
Ovislink Gigabit PCI card (64/32bit) - $40 A30R
Belkin Wireless C/D Router - $30 A20R
(Not hot, but may present PM'ing possibilities) 160GB Maxtor 8MB 7200RPM - $130 A40R
WD 36.7 GB Raptor SATA HD - $190 A30R (Best Buy has it for $199.99...PM to BB and get the drive for $170 AR...yes MC PM's)...OEM drive online is $131.50 at newegg

on a side note: microcenter updated their site big time. Now items with rebates have a dollar sign in a green circle under their price in the product listing online. So you can find items with rebates that arent necessarily shown in the pictures of the ad online.

I think its a great deal. I don't remember ever seeing Verbatims 24X CDRWs on sale. People on cdfreaks.com have claimed that Verbatim 24X are excellent quality (unlike high speed Memorex CDRW)

don't bother if your burner don't have ultra speed logo and don't support > 16x rewritable

there are v. few burner in the market support ultra-speed cdrw, esp. at 24x

I agree. I haven't seen too many of the "Ultra speed CD-RW" media around, and for a 10-pack of Verbatim/Mitsubishi-quality media, with jewel cases, for $6, is a steal! I can't stand using 4X RWs in my nice 24x-capable drive.

The Gigafast NIC and 5-port switch are nice too, FAR and nearly FAR respectively. I remember when 10/100 "starter kit" pckages, with only a hub, not a switch, used to retail for over $200. My SMC router with 4-port 10/100 switch is nearly running out of ports already, I might pick one of these up.

All the new ones do (I think). I have a 48X lite-on
