New Monopoly game...

Just watched the commercial for the new Monopoly game they've come out with. Apparently they've done away with the actual Monopoly money, and replaced it with credit cards and swipe machines/calculators. The properties also cost millions.

...I thought this was a game for kids to pay with their parents? A game that would help them learn how to count properly, manually?

...credit cards?

=/

Kids need to hack the credit cards to steal money now? Stealing monopoly was easy in the good old days.

It's a special edition of Monopoly, Monopoly: Electronic Banking. The regular versions are still paper based and always will be.

It's actually a good thing for gameplay though, it speeds things up a tad and prevents most cheating (and let's face it, most of us either were the cheaters or the cheated).

There are a crap load of different versions of monopoly out there, usually with movie characters inserted + minor alterations. The vast majority of Monopoly games are good for playing with the family, this is just a experiment to see if they can squeeze a few extra dollars out of a already saturated market.

shouldnt electronic monopoly be what we want? i mean lets face it, paper money is being used less and less while credit/debit cards are being used more and more. why teach young kids to use something they probably wont use when there adults?

Me neither. Can't believe we missed anything, it's the all-time dumbest game ever invented. Candyland has more strategy involved.

that's terrible news, how can anyone hide their money and pretend like they're trading for property with no capital for building houses/hotels?!? that's how you win the game!!

They ought to make a sub-prime lending edition where random properties go into foreclosure every turn.
