As for the AS95F....Proceed with caution........
This monitor is low price for a reason.......The specs look good, geometry is aceptable, games look fine.....However....Text on the right side of the screen is about 20% less sharp than on the rest of the screen. No matter what you do you can't change that because what ever you do to increase sharpness will change sharpness across the screen so there is always that difference. I found it really anoying, for instance when reading posts on this board that go all the way across the screen. I also found the side edges where very grainy.....The scroll bars on IE5.0 would look like they had a cross hatch pattern. You could adjust that with the horizontal moire adjustment but that just made the text look even more blurry on the right side of the display. Strangley the verticle moire adjustment didn't seem to do anything at all.

I wouldn't reccomend this monitor until you've actually seen it for yourself....
As for shadow mask 19" I'm going to look at the Hitachi CM772....actually only the 771 is carried locally but if I like it I will order the 772 from Onvia...
I have seen the DP91 Mitsubishi and I like it enough to buy one...It has this auto fine adjustment which is pretty cool...
Tomorrow I'm going to try out a KDS AV195TF. If I decide I like AG I will either buy the DP91 or the KDS....
BTW....The Hitachi 771 is advertised as having comparable depth as a 17"

For those of you who have posted here that have the CM771... Do you agree with any of the moire problems or issues reported by this user

Are there any problems with moire or text at 1280?
Back to your question.....I really don't think you'll find a 19" flat screen you will be happy with for $300, not unless VA comes back with value dollars.... On the other hand a 19" shadow mask with aceptable performance is do able....LG 995E sells for $303 ...Also if you can find anything locally either on display or with a reasonable return policy, but it and try it....I've seen them at Costco,Fryes, and at some independent shops.
