I would like to get an NEC/Mitsu 22" monitor. My concern is price mainly, for the Mitsu 2070u would be up to 700 shipped. I do want a monitor that is capable of doing resolutions higher that 1600x1200 with good rates.

My main question is:
Is there enough of an improvement from the 2040u model to a 2070u to warrant the extra $250 that it costs?

Any help and sugestions would be appreciated.
