New monitor problem

I just bought the ViewSonic A90f 19 inch monitor, the picture isn't very sharp, is there a way to adjust it? I've tried all of the diferant resolution settings, and refresh rates, right now I'm running at 1024 x 786 at 85 hertz.

Have you tried different display drivers? You monitor should look clear at that setting, what are you comparing the monitor to? So 60hz looks just as crisp as 85hz or 100hz?

If you're willing ot risk it, I found it pretty easy to modify my geforce by clipping the capacitor filter off.

I'm compairing it to my old monitor, a Daewoo 707B 17 inch, it was 5 years old and looked better than the new Viewsonic, I hope it's just a setting that I'm missing.

I presume you tried normal things like deguass etc, anyway I had that problem with my 2nd replacement for my first RMA one(geometry problem),I phoned them up and told them the replacement one was slightly out of focus and they picked it up and gave me a replacement,if you are sure it`s a focus problem then RMA it,no point in hurting your eyes.
