Hey , i just got a 7950gx2 and well my phillips 109s4 19inch crt is nice but doesnt do the card justice.. the monitor is almost 4 years old now. Im looking at getting a Viewsonic VA2012W which is 20 inch lcd for about $470 aus. My concern is its native resolution is 1680x1050 and ive never seen a game use that and im abit worried about having such a high reso as the standard because when games like crysis come out i doubt ill be able to play it at this reso... any comments would be much appreciated :D.

Another thing is the Viewsonic VA2012W hdcp or w/e it is compliant like the 7950gx2 is?

Thats a widescreen res, most new games have that option. And im pretty sure with a monster like 7950gx2 you could play at that res

Yes only select few support HDCP, but i wouldnt worry too much about that now. Unless you want to geek it up, and become super super proof. I believe Nvidia is planning on releasing drivers anyway to support HDCP.

Link to that monitor in Aussie Pls. I've been looking at the BenQ one, but it's $500+.

I have 19" LCD 12ms and have never noticed any ghosting whatsoever.

Edit...NM staticice ftw...:)

he probably ment a 20" 1600x1200 that is the standard resolution for a 20" lcd. 1280x1024 is standard for 19"

Well according to the reviews this is the best monitor for gaming in its price bracket, so 8ms is fast enough and u dont need hdcp?
