Yeah, I was surprised by this. Can't say I agree with the reasoning or the resolution. How can you take away an option mid-vote? What happens to the Modeps votes? Hanging chads? I smell a recount. 😛
Also, I voted in every single sub forum, even though I only frequent ATCG and ATOT. :Q
It was definitely done jokingly, but it was also also definitely campaigning for votes in a more popular category (off-topic).
Modeps is a cool guy, but seriously, it's obvious from the amount of effort put into it he really wanted the position so he pimped himself out for more votes.
This kind of sums it up, I guess:
Regardless, it's just a mod position on a random forum. Not like it's something you'd put on a resume.

Did I want it? Sure, it would have been cool. But when I saw that I was at less than half of Queasy's votes, I knew it wasnt going to happen (nothing about sour grapes at all) and decided to have a little fun. It didn't take any effort at all to create those chops (for real).
It was done in jest, and any "election" that lets you view who is winning before you even vote really isn't a great idea in the first place.
Congrats Queasy, have fun dealing with Casio. :Q 😉

Agreed. Kinda sucks that my vote counted for nothing now.
This whole mod vote wasn't a good idea IMO anyway. I've been a longtime member of these forums, and would love to someday be able to join the ranks of the elite to give back to the community. But if all future mod decisions are going to be turned into a popularity contest, I have no chance.

This'll be my last reply about this matter.
Next time if you hold an election for moderator, be sure to define the rules before starting it instead of making them up mid-contest. You nullified votes that were cast because you felt that what I did violated your rules. Rules that were not outlined ahead of time. Your reasoning was "Well, you should have known better. You're clearly not moderator material," which quite frankly, is bullshit. Also, your "apology" about inconvenience was pathetic.
Be sure to check all of your referral logs for people who were asking for votes outside of this website, because that probably violates your rules too. I posted to my blog, my side-project website, and twitter letting people know about the election. I think it netted me one vote. It'll take a while to check this info, but as long as its fair it wont be a big deal.
I just went into all the forums where I don't post, and voted for the person in second place, so cross check the people who post in specific forums to the votes they cast to make sure you nullify those that don't count as well.
If this post doesn't get me banned, I'll continue to post in this forum but the only person-of-authority I will have respect for is the newly elected Queasy.
