This is the official moderator nomination thread for Power Supplies.

We will compile a list of nominees through Monday night. Voting on nominees will take place in this thread Tuesday through Thursday. The candidate with the most votes will have the opportunity to become a moderator for this and one other secondary non-social forum of their choosing.

Either before or after the vote, a candidate can withdraw his or her name from consideration. In the event that the candidate with the most votes withdraws his or her name, the candidate with the next most votes will be extended the opportunity, and so on.

AnandTech resevers the right to veto nominations at our discretion. We will do our best to allow you to pick the candidates you feel best suit the needs of your forum, but we won't allow members who can't follow guidelines to be put in a position to enforce them on others.

We will keep a list of nominees in this thread. If a nominee has been vetoed or has withdrawn their name from consideration, a note will be made next to their name. This will be done to prevent multiple posts nominating the same member. If the member you want to moderate this forum is already on the list, please don't post.

Please only post the name of the nominee in your replies. Please make sure it is spelled correctly before posting.

NOMINEES:

jonnyGURU
Galvanized Yankee
John
Rubycon

Times up. It's Monday night and the nominations are over.
The voting on your selections will begin as soon as we have
looked things over and we post the candidates on Tuesday.
Thanks everyone for your nominations.

I'd vote Galvanized Yankee, but he's probably a bit ornery for the job. :p Plus, I don't think he's coming back.

Would be a nice gesture though.....

Whoever gets the job needs to have and open mind and not have an agenda that only includes their opinions...we do not need to see any of the old guard back.

Even though I have always liked the present mod --
John!!! He was fair and was not trying to run the PSU forum like he was the Lord and master!!

Peace!!

Jonnyguru doesn't post here anymore all that often. Is John quitting or something, he seems to do a fine job ?

I'm flattered, really.

But I think the fact that I work for BFG sort of negates me as a candidate.

Actually, I pop in a couple times a day. But the fact of the matter is:

1. This forum is slow.

2. The majority of posts are "what kind of PSU should I get" type posts as opposed to actual technical questions about computers and power supplies. I don't really like taking part in those kinds of threads because they always end up quite fan boyish.

Remember: The majority of folks here are either fan boys or shills. ;)

It's slow ? Hmmm, as for point 2, yeah, there should be something stickied, because we do keep answering the same sort of posts over and over again.

Agreed that he's doing a fine job. The goal is to increase the number of moderators to help share the workload. None of us can be online 24/7. (At least I don't think we're being replaced... if we are, I hope my severance pay is at least triple what we... get... paid.. oh yeah, we're volunteers.)

This is why I would say you would be the perfect candidate. :) I've never seen you be unfair in judgement anywhere. Now if you don't wish to--that is another matter altogether.

Never said I wouldn't accept the nomination. If the fact that I'm a PSU PM for BFG doesn't bother anyone, then WTF. ;)
