This is the official moderator nomination thread for General Hardware.

We will compile a list of nominees through Monday night. Voting on nominees will take place in this thread Tuesday through Thursday. The candidate with the most votes will have the opportunity to become a moderator for this and one other secondary non-social forum of their choosing.

Either before or after the vote, a candidate can withdraw his or her name from consideration. In the event that the candidate with the most votes withdraws his or her name, the candidate with the next most votes will be extended the opportunity, and so on.

AnandTech resevers the right to veto nominations at our discretion. We will do our best to allow you to pick the candidates you feel best suit the needs of your forum, but we won't allow members who can't follow guidelines to be put in a position to enforce them on others.

We will keep a list of nominees in this thread. If a nominee has been vetoed or has withdrawn their name from consideration, a note will be made next to their name. This will be done to prevent multiple posts nominating the same member. If the member you want to moderate this forum is already on the list, please don't post.

Please only post the name of the nominee in your replies. Please make sure it is spelled correctly before posting.

NOMINEES:
FileZz
Narse
Marc Venice

MarcVenice because he's always around and always helpful. I don't see as much of FileZz, and while Narse definitely deserves it in the Computer Help forum, they aren't around as much in here.

Must say I was a bit surprised to be nominated in the first place, and now I'm flattered to have made it to the poll. I do spend a fair bit of time on this forum, and others too, like the PSU forum, and won't be withdrawing for sure. This is allready a great place, with great people, and if I can help make it a wee bit better, I'll gladly do so. Thanks to those who nominated and voted for me.

Looks like you deserve it also! I would drop out of this race if I didn't want to beat Filezz ;)

Marc Venice is going to have his work cut out for him moving all of the HD threads to 'memory & storage'.

QFT, i think GH has to be the hardest, people oft assume that anything and everything goes in GH when there are in fact much better places for them. CPU&OC seem to be getting a lot of C&C threads lately though too.

I think the biggest issue is the generality of our sections. It adds to the confusion. Someone has a cpu cooler question, it could fit in either cases & cooling or cpu.

Some newer members may believe that cases & cooling is more for cases and case cooling fans, etc. not cpu heatsinks.

I just joined today, but I've read a lot of recent threads and Marc Venice always has helpful advice and seems to answer when other's won't.
