I am getting a new PC, and I was deciding wat mobo to get. Right now i am looking at the K8v SE Deluxe on newegg for 115. THe other parts i am considering are 1GB of mushkin ram pc3200, AMD athlon 3200 or 3400, Evga 6800 limited edition 256.

What motherboard would be good for me to get? I want it to last another year and a half or so and work well for games and I want it to be stable like the MSI one I currently use. (old Ktv266). THanks

Imho it is worth to wait one month or so and get new nforce4 socket 939 mobo.
Will cost you approximately same money and will last much longer.
If you feel a need to build comp right now then your suggested combo is rather ok on condition
you are not going to overclock. Pick 3400 Newcastle core CPU. Also quality 430 Watt PSU is desirable.

no point in waiting.. it will only change again later. it could be an endless cycle.
that's just my opinion though.

If you like Asus, don't get the K8V.... get the K8N-E, it's much better. :)
