New mobo/HDD problem?

Hello all,

I just got the parts for a new PC I am building (first time) and after I put everything together, it won't boot. When I power on, all the fans come on, including the CPU one, I see lights on the mobo and video card. There are three red debug lights on the mobo, which according to the manual mean that "VGA detected, CPU detected" but the fourth light doesn't come on (which would mean "System start-up"). Then it just starts beeping slowly and nothing else happens. I don't see the HDD lights come on and I can't be sure, but I can't hear any HDD activity.

I have a seagate HDD on IDE1 as the master and a Raptor on SATA1 as the slave. Could I have messed something up there? On the Seagate, I have a power connector going in and the IDE cable (the blue connector is in the mobo and the black one in the drive). This is a DFI Lanparty Ultra-D NF4 motherboard, and I'm not even sure if I've connected everything properly...

Do you have any suggestions, or maybe a link to a good guide about connecting cables on a motherboard?

Thank you very much for any help!

I disconnected everything like you said, even the HDD - same beeping and 4 red light. CPU fan works and vid card shows a green light. I connected the IDE drive - same thing. It happens pretty much instantly, as soon as I start it. There is no delay.

Hm, I didn't disconnect the sound card (Audigy2)... I'll try that now.

OMG I'm so stupid. I put my two ram sticks in the two slots closest to the CPU, assuming those were slot 1 and 2. Turns out those are 3 and 4. I move the ram to 1 & 2 and its fine. Thank you for your help :)
