new mobo, comp wont even start

i had a bad bios flash before, didnt feel like fixing it so i just bought a new mobo (a Gigabyte GA-K8U).. but now computer wont even boot, at all, no beeps, nothin.. it just powers up, fans kick on, yet nothing happens. what can be the cause of that?

take the cmos battery out and switch the cmos jumper for like 30 seconds. replace everything and see if it works. try reseating ram, video card, cpu.

im kind of a newbie but maybe your mobo is getting short circuted. myabe you have a standoff in the wrong pos

just assuming your a first pc build...here's ur check list :

- brass stand offs/ plastic right under your mother board, without having the mother board (bottom) touching the case which cause a short or no boot (which happened to me :) )
- All of the psu components is attached to your psu (like 20 pin/ 24 pin/ etc) on your mobo
- ram, vid card, hdd is attached with it's molex/pci connectors, and the peripheral wires attached to the mobo....

Did you try to install windows? It is a new mobo, so you'll have to reload windows, or maybe try to patch it(I've never done this but heard others have).

well, i tried reseating everything, made sure all the connectors are hooked up right, all the brass standoffs are in the right postions, still doesnt boot at all tho, just powers up, when i had a bad bios flash before on the other mobo, could that have friend my cpu/memory er anything?
