Subaru has a front crash prevention rating of Superior. The CX-5 ranks lower at Advanced.
This is true, but I have trouble believing that the auto-braking systems are going to make that much of a difference in major crashes (vs fender benders) in the real world. Therefore, I don't care as much about the "prevention" ratings as I do about the actual crash ratings.

The AWD does cause lower fuel economy. I was talking about the standard CX5, which is better than the Subarus. If you're going to get an AWD car, I'd get the Subaru.

Subbies do very well on the new front offset crash ratings as well, I believe they lead the board on every categories.
