I have already posted it a few posts up 🙂

As an old-school metal head I have nothing for them anymore. After that piece of sh*t "Load" came out, then on TOP of that the Napster fiasco where Metallica wanted to be a martyr. Well, they got it....they sacrificed many of their fans being morons getting involved in politics whining over some mp3's....who the hell does that? If you are filthy rich already, just put out a crappy album, and changed your image to some euro-trash punk-band look....I think the last thing you should do is piss off the general public that buys your albums.

With that being said, no matter what they release they will never be the same Metallica I grew up listening to in my teens back inthe day. I still have all my pre-black album stuff like Ride the Lightning, Kill Em' All, And Justice For All, etc....but I could care less if they ever record another song, much less another album.

well that song blows goatass...
more soulless crap..

and what the hell is wrong with james' voice.. he sounds aweful on all the clips from that concert..

he never sounded that bad before.. Ive seen over 45 Metallica concerts over the years and not once has he sounded that horse and out of key..

man maybe it really is time for Metallica to hang up thier gear and walk peacefully into the sunset..

The song is really awesome. I just dont like the way James keeps throwing his voice like that when he sings, and stretching out the words like "Theeeee Liiiight seettttss meeeee freeeeee" im sure it'll sound better when its in the studio. The solo made me smile though, havent heard a new solo like that from kirk in years.

Wow, what an incredible song. For me to poop on. I loved Metallica before St. Anger but now they're just souless whores. I don't care what direction they go with they're music but I'd like for it to be from the heart instead of simply designed to sell the most records. This crappy song is just more of the same lowest common denominator approach their last album had.

You nailed it. All I have to do is whip out my DVD with music videos on it and play "Nothing Else Matters" and it looks and sounds like 2 completely different bands.

Too bad Dimebag got shot by that maniac @sshole in Ohio. Pantera = Metallica pwnage.

R.I.P. Dime 🙁

Overall I like the music in The Other New Song better than the music in The New Song, but both songs had cool parts and "meh" parts. The vocals are mostly "meh", but I'm not really worried 'cause those will change a good amount (at least going by the other times Metallica has done unfinished songs from forth come albums live).

I like it because I think they are finally waking up and going back to their roots. I also agrr with the other poster commenting on how it will be alot more polished when it comes to recording time.

the fact that we haven't heard a solo from Kirk in years is the key point here... it SOUNDS like he hasn't solo'ed in years. sh!t he's sloppy

They need to start playing with passion again, thats the problem.

I have to admit i basically love stuff off most of metallica's albums, even a few songs off St Anger..which of course means all the Metallica fanboys on ATOT despise me 😛

Meh it sucked... Its in no way the old metallica. For me its not even a step in the right direction. The original metallica that we loved ended with cliff burton 🙁 R.I.P man

Jame's voice has been horrible in the last few concerts I've heard from them. I'm a mettalica fan from way, way back but they started to lose it after the black album. St. Anger was terrible. I hope they do something much, much better for the next one.

Pure and utter genious....i mean feces.

I really like their old stuff, somehwat like their not too old stuff and hate their new stuff...including this.

i am willing to bet most that posted, would not make it in a metal concert anyway.

I like it...live and a new song is going to have problems.
