Anyone see this yet? Looks pretty badass. Its the new Mercedes CLS. It looks kind of like a Jag from the side.

Yes...and I'm not crazy about it. I don't like the rear fenders or the square front end. Not crazy about the rear lights either. It doesn't flow like the old CLS does and I have driven the outgoing CLS550.

Here are some pics I took at the Los Angeles Auto Show last month.

I do like Mercs but I don't think it's as nice looking as a Jag. Although as an Englishman I might be slightly biased.

I think from the front it actually looks a little bit like an Audi.

I have noticed that Merc seemed to have taken their new grille inspiration from the SLS AMG. The older models had a grille like the McLaren Mercedes SLR instead which was a bit more interesting but might have been a bit too bold for Mercedes typical customers who tend to be old conservative white guys (at least here in England anyway).

Meh, doesn't look as good as the original. Incorporating the new styling language ruined the lines of the outgoing CLS.

Any word if BMW is going to be releasing a redesigned M3 in 2011?

Probably not. The F30 (the next-gen 3 series) will emerge as a 2012-model-year car, presumably sometime in late 2011 (there are also rumors it will debut in 2012 as a 2013 model), but normally the M car trails by a year, so I would expect to see a new one as a 2013 model. The word on the streets is that it will have a 450-bhp twin-turbo six.

From a packaging standpoint, the 3 series has room to fit the twin turbo 4.4L V8. Wouldn't that be amazing to have the next M3 powered by 550hp v8? Of course the added weight would be against the grain of a 3 series.

The new CLS looks nice IMO but the current gen looks better and sleeker and more sporty (which MB cars lack in general).

Is that a matte/semi-gloss finish? Looks really good.
