Ok, I'm ordering this thing tomorrow, and I have made a couple small changes(more ram and better HD). I'm posting this up one last time to see if anyone has any other recommendations or suggestions, and also to make sure everything is compatible with one another 🙂. Remember my budget was $1000, and im at $1100 now, so i can't upgrade anything else unless i degrade something else 🙂 ........

looks good, how are you getting your gpu so cheap?

For what it is worth, I'd rather have this case

Not only do I think it looks better, but it probably is easier to work with and is likely a higher quality case (maybe not, never used an A Top case before).

Overall, looks good OP. :thumbsup:
 
that case seems okay for cooling, but you'd have to spend an extra $40 for good case fans. (2 x 120 and 1 x 92? 80?) but imo its quiet ugly, how old are you? the case says xblade on it haha
 
that psu might not be enough at 100% utilization with the x1900xt. i'm running a fx600-gln from fsp for my x1900xt

agreed on Centurion 5. it's a higher quality case than the A-Top....that's definite.
 
to all of you hassling the OP about his case selection, why don't YOU buy the case? it's his rig so it's his choice on how he wants his rig to look. i'm not saying anything about the OP's age and i'm not saying his case is "childish" but let's just suppose it was. did you come out wanting plaid shirts and comfortable slippers? i know this seems like a pointless post but you guys gotta stop telling people to change stuff without any factual stuff. from what i see, LOUISSSSS was the only person to say something that was worth stating about the case...he told the OP he'll need to pay for better cooling.

i agree with LOUISSSSS about the power supply. maybe spending another $30 to get a 500w psu would be better. everything else looks awesome

The case is crap. Both asthetically and quality wise. It looks like it's about to fall apart. Get something better like an Antec.

Abit = crap. Get an Epox 9NPA+ Ultra.

PSU isn't enough I don't think, and if it is it's cutting it close. Get Fortron 500W.

CPU is just wrong. Get an Opteron 165 instead of that.

I like OCZ better than G.Skill...

Hard drive and dvd burner are the only right things on that list.

450 is more than enough for any non SLI system. He's strapped for cash and the 165 is $40 more. Seems to me like he made the right choice...

He's not building your system he is building his own.

I'll agree that aesthetically there are other superior cases, but how do you know what the fit and finish are like?

get out of here! that case is ugggly 🙂 too normal! 🙂 however, it is probably easier to work with, and I wouldn't doubt the quality could be better!
 
Ofcourse, to everyone telling me my case is crap or ugly or whatever, I know its all opinion based and I'm just messing around with you guys! Like I said any input is appreciated. If the only reason the case 'sucks' is because it is ugly, then that is fine...however if its the quality your worried about, then ofcourse I'm all ears!

As for my age, whomever asked lol, 21, and I like that it says xblade just b/c...i dont know 🙂 I'll look around 1 last time for any different cases, but I hate the normal 'tower' looking ones. One more problem, I can't spend any more cash! Thanks for all the input guys, keep it coming if you want, I still have about 16 hours until I order!

450 will be more than enough. And the Abit is just fine 🙂
 
x1900xt recommends at least 400. if i were you i'd take advantage of the cheap x1900xt u got and get a system that can handle it. or sell that and get a better balanced system. your parts will overheat if u get those crappy cases. its not even about the looks. its about the cooling. the x1900xt idles at 47 in my WELLLL cooled and ventilated lian li v1000b. and trust me you wont see any idle temps of the x1900xt under 47 in yours. ignor crescent the 3800x2 will be great with the x1900xt. 2gb of ram is also welcome. abit is bad. epox isn't better. when looking for help you will find no luck with those brands. as well as dfi. go with an asus. it is the only brand of motherboard that can be trusted 99% of the time. i'd give epox, abit, dfi nothing more than a 75% stable system the first time powered on. i still recommend a stronger psu. view my sig for a well rounded (but kinda expensive) x1900xt rig.
summarize: you dont need an opteron. period
you need more power for your video card and system
you need a better ventilated case
you need an asus motherboard since you dont seem to know what you're doing (sorry)
you're 21, you dont need bright blue lights on your case or cases that have knives and "blades" but thats imo
