LMAO! Seven speed DSG with Pre cog > Manual.

Ever driven an automatic sports car? It's boring as fuck. Yea, it's a little amusing at first, I have driven the M3 with the DSG, but it gets boring...fast.

Honestly, my friend who owned the M3 got bored of the DSG, so when his parents asked him to give away the M3 because of the rough times, he bought a manual Mazda RX8.

He enjoys the RX8 a lot more than then the DSG M3. True story.

No I'm not, it's well within the tables.

I think some people have more fun playing with a gearshift + clutch than they do actually *driving* the car. Take it to a track, and I bet you'd be a better driver with a DSG since it will give you more time to concentrate on what's going on around you.

Of course if you're driving on the street within a reasonable margin of the speed limit & other laws, you might just need that gearshift / clutch to keep yourself entertained inside a 400+hp vehicle.

Yeah, I have. They can be boring, but unless you've driven this car you can just wonder. There are nice SMG/DSG boxes out there, and this is from a committed(99.5% of all cars ever owned) manual driver.

Well, to be fair, I doubt I am ever going to drive this simply because it's expensive as fuck, but I love manual gearboxes. They make me hard.

The more I look at it the more I like it. And for the people saying it looks like a ferrari...well yes it does a little bit but I think it looks more like the old F1. Lots of cars look like ferraris anyway these days.

Meh. To what extent does McLaren = Gordon Murray? Because it is well known that the "McLaren F1" is his interpretation of what a true super-car should be: no gee-whiz gadgets, normally aspirated, engine in the middle, driver in the middle, no radio, etc.

This latest thing is hardly a "true" supercar by Gordon's definition.

But at the end of the day, I suppose it is not about what Gordon wants but rather what Ron Dennis wants.

None. He works for Caparo Vehicle Technologies and his own consultancy is busy designing 'Eco city cars'.

EDIT: Also, the F1 had a 'Kenwood 10-disc CD stereo system'. Rose tinted glasses FTL!

I love the styling, but I can't get over the fact it's a 7 automatic only.

Why not a 7 or 8 spd manual? I'd quite like that. 😀

At first glance...I didn't think it really stood out of the pack at all...and was a bit bland compared to the new Italia. But after looking at it more and more...it has really grown on me. Very organic feeling and smooth. I love the relatively low displacement V8 TT...and while I'd rather drive a manual...the DSG sounds awesome from a tech perspective. What I really like is the effort to keep it light...I'm interested in what the final numbers will be on that. I'm really glad McLaren broke off from Mercedes...this is much more of what I would expect from McLaren...never liked the SLR.
