um no on the Fish McBites. doesnt sounds apetizing to me.

and no on the cheeseburger w/more onions.
i'll stick to my McDouble with twice the patties.

And there might be new limited edition Quarter Pounder variations besides the CBO (Cheddar bacon Onion).

But...
“Who would pay $4.79 for a sandwich when the two sandwiches on the Dollar Menu are perfectly good?” he said. “It’s just the math. The more you raise prices, the more you encourage people to buy off the Dollar Menu.”

YUP!

Because their angus burgers have around 6oz of better meat, a much better bun, and fresh vegetables. Two McDoubles have a a little over 6oz of greasy, pet-food-grade meat, pickles, and reconstituted onion specks, mashed into the cheapest bun they could buy.

Yeah, the calories-per-dollar ratio is better with the McDoubles, but if you have to eat a burger at McDonald's, the angus is a much better product for your money.

I tried the burger the other night and it's pretty darn bad. Cheese and onions are fairly tasty but ruined by the crappy patty.

The angus burgers are pretty darn tasty.

I am proud to say that I have purged McDonald's from my life.

If only I could do the same with Taco Bell.. :(

Hell for that money I'll spend a couple more dollars and eat at a burger joint down the street from my house. $7 gets me one of the best burgers I've had (6oz) and a massive side of fries.

When I go to McD's it's for cheap food. Dollar menu fills that void.

The name "Fish McBites" sounds off-putting, and I don't have any specific hate toward fast food or McDonalds. Hell, I once lost 25 lbs eating nothing but that shit for a couple months. But "McBite" sounds awful, and putting "Fish" in front does nothing to alleviate that fact.

I'll give the grilled onion cheddar burger a shot the next time I'm running too late to cook. I don't expect much, though, the dollar menu items are usually pretty rough. The angus cheddar bacon onion was good, though.

Lately the only fast food I've really been wanting is Wendy's chili and baked potatoes.

Perfectly understandable. I only go to McDonald's when I truly have no other option, but when I do, I'll spring for the better burger.

The original question was, “Who would pay $4.79 for a sandwich when the two sandwiches on the Dollar Menu are perfectly good?”

Answer? This guy!

Only thing I get from McDonald's anymore is their coffee. Hard to beat for $1.

Get off your high-horse, it's just a bargain burger, nothing more, nothing less. I'm not suggesting one should make a daily Mc'd's visit but once in a while it's nice to just grab some burgers and fries and go home and eat. If you have the time and skill and to fresh-prepare EVERY meal homemade more power to 'ya, I do most of the time but on occasion I'll stop on the way home for burgers or a pizza..

Don't pay attention to him, he likes to preach to other people about how we are ruining out bodies by eating at McDonalds.

Well to answer that question I have yet to do that. I could see myself to try it and if I'm traveling. Otherwise don't think I will. I can respect your decision to splurge for it though. Sometimes their dollar menu stuff is just terrible and I usually regret eating it.

I actually like the mcdouble and chicken nuggets. Those are the only things I'll get from there.

I get $1 McChicken sammich and iced coffee once or twice per week. Sometimes a chicken wrap instead. I did get a McDouble last week for the first time in maybe six or seven months. That was enough for another six or seven months.

My friend who worked at mcdeez for a couple of years said the chicken wrap was their thinnest margin item. Their cost was 80 cents.

Bleh. An In N Out double double is under 3 bucks.

The only thing I ever buy from MacDonalds is an Egg Sausage McMuffin. Those are amazing, although Ive had some home made which ended up better but with much more work.
