I agree. Much better than the ATI interview. :)

Long live Matrox!
<-- in love with DualHead

The only thing that bothers me is how he "dictates" to us consumers that by getting 30fps(average not minumum if I may add) in Quake 3 will cut it.

I think he was being quite reasonable. He didn't dictate that to "consumers" (in general) but to "hardcore gamers."

To me, 30 fps is good enough, although I wouldn't mind if Matrox offered better 3D acceleration.

If I want gaming, I'll go grab an nVIDIA card. If I want excellent 2D and DualHead, I choose Matrox any day.

Unfortunately, there are no cards out there (at an affordable price, at least) that offers best of both worlds.

I haven't tried this myself, but from what I hear I thought the ATI cards were very reasonable in-betweens?

Yes. Radeons of all kinds (except the SDR :p) offer good FPS while maintaining excellent 2D quality.

True. :) Forgot about Radeon for a while there.

I dunno how about a VisionTek Dualhead board for $89

Probably the best 2D you can get with Dualhead.
