Wow, they finally fixed the broken bloom/DoF on Radeon X1xxx cards. I played through the whole game with depth of field disabled on my X1900, thanks to that glitch.

Well, as awesome an experience that game was the first time through, it was pointless doing a second game. I appreciate the patch but I wont be starting it up again.
And I still havent seen a fix for the weapon overheating issue. WTF?

The game is better the second time through.. you get to multi-class.

...what? The only thing different the second time through is that you can carry over your character and continue to build/level him up. There is nothing else different about subsequent play-throughs. There is no multi-classing. The only thing even close is that you can pick a sub-class (Commando and Shock Trooper for Solider, for example) after you complete the quest on the moon (which you can do on your first play-through after level 20, BTW). If you pick a sub-class the first time through though, it remains the same for any later play-throughs.

As for the patch, it's too little too late. This game came out forever ago.

You have 2 options when you start a new game after you beat it.

1) new game + (you carry over your current character at current level
2) new game + bonus skills (start a new character at lvl1, but get to mix skills from other classes that you have gained the achievements in)

An issue, WITH THE LEGIT VERSION OF THE GAME, in which a weapon will overheat and stay there forever. You have to save and reload the game.
Perhaps its just my computer or just my copy of the game, WHICH IS LEGIT, but it happens routinely and I havent seen a fix for it yet.

I've beaten the game multiple times with multiple characters, including Insane difficulty. I am well aware of how the system works. You can add one skill to a new character, based on the achievements you unlocked. That's not multi-classing...it's adding one bonus skill, and only to a brand new character, not an existing one. Multi-classing would be...well, Infiltrator, Sentinel, Vanguard, etc. :p

I've been debating picking this up on Steam, maybe once the patch is integrated into the Steam version, I'll finally take the plunge.

Huh. Only played it on one PC, but 50-60 hours between two characters and I haven't run into that. Sucks.

I had that happen to me a number of times during the game as well, and yeah, it was really annoying.

its pretty good game, short and easy though. I guess set it on hard, but then it would be short and hard ia ssume lol.

Whats the deal with the added content thing, bring down the sky? I beat it before that came out, i reinstalled and installed that but havent played it. Also i reinstalled so i didnt get any bonuses for replying :(.

Much like Baldurs Gate, Neverwinter Nights and KOTOR, increasing the difficulty does change the gameplay somewhat.
You have to move a little slower and pay closer attention. Think about strategy and stuff. Prep for battle and make intelligent use of special abilities.
On easy levels you can often plow right through and quickly pick up the mess later.
Mass Effect doesnt move like a traditional FPS so quick reflexes and such wont save your butt. You gotta think about your equipment and your gameplay.

I've played through 3 times and plan to do a completely new character for a 4th go through before the sequel arrives. Now that I know exactly how each of the major classes plays I intend to build a perfect Biotic character for Mass Effect 2 (you can carry ME characters over into the sequel).

Love this game, picked it up three weeks ago off of Steam so I'm psyched the patch is out to fix Garrus' low-res face textures. I've beaten it with a Soldier character on normal difficulty and it was WAY too easy, not to mention too tame with only using weapons and no fun stuff (biotics...etc.).

I'm replaying now as a Sentinel and am so addicted to the Lift + Throw combo. Love it! I'm debating what to replay it again as in prep for porting over my character to ME2.
