Can already tell it's gonna be better than that piece of crap that was out 6 or 7 years ago with who knows who and kevin spacey.

Chris Nolan hasn't been involved in a bad movie (I thought "The Prestige" was bad but it's generally very liked).

Not jizzing my pants like the OP but I just may see this one 🙂 As others have said Superman just isn't really an interesting hero, only has one weakness and other than that can't be stopped.

I like how they put him in Handcuffs in the trailer 😛

Yeah, Superman Returns was just plain embarrassing. I'm not sure who thought putting a skinny underwear model in the red and blue suit and having him to an impression of Christopher Reeve was a good idea, but I'm sure that crew is cleaning toilets now.

This movie looks like the modern story that Superman needed. The seem to be finally breaking the corny 1940's story telling and making the big guy relevant in today's world.

what happned to lex luther? isn't he like THE villain for superman? kinda how like joker is THE villain for batman. you can't have superman w/o lex first.

It's odd you bring up the Joker and Batman, as it makes me think you don't remember the recent Batman movies. You remember the Joker was only in one of those... right? And not even in the first one. If anything, saving Lex for a sequel is just repeating the pattern of what batman did with the joker.

The good thing is since its a Nolan movie it will probably be two and half to three hours long

So excited, finally a proper Superman movie

Not to downplay his involvement, but it's not really a nolan movie. It's a Zach Snyder movie with Nolan producing. It'll still be heavily influenced by him but he's not at the helm like you're implying.

There are so many Superman villians that you don't need a Lex...or if you do, make him an "indirect" villain (like the guy calling the shots behind the scenes).

Metalo would be a great movie villain, as would Bizarro (imagine a "zombie" like superman monster...awesome!), Brainiac would kick ass, the Parasite...there's an entire library of baddies for Supes to fight besides Lex.

Lots of movies to look forward to this summer
Oblivion

I'm a bit wary of Oblivion given it's only got a 65% rating right now. That would be fine if it was an action-oriented flick, but for a good Sci-Fi movie? You'd probably want 80% or higher!

Personally, I didn't find this Superman trailer to be that interesting, but the trailer might not be for me as I was going to see the movie anyway. I guess it's just because the trailer didn't really tell me anything new as it contains imagery that was shown in stills or in other teasers/trailers.

add Darkseid to that list

True. I'm seeing it anyway on Friday. This year's run of movies has been so crappy that I'm desperate to go to the movies to see something.

Actually, I saw Evil Dead and while that was OK I need more. MORE!

ah that sucks. Even the positive reviews are half handed. I guess I'll save this one for BRD

Deadliest Catch, Bearded Superface.

Who remembers the strength one of supermans hair that they showcased in I believe superman 4? lol.

Im looking forward to it. I remember seeing the trailer at the Hobbit in Dec and thinking Nolan has to be involved with it. Everything he touches seems to be gold.

Bringing kryptonite in would only work if they have the meteor shower done, if you remember superman 3 (i think) they made the kryptonite that would make him bad (much like red kryptonite), they had to scan deep space for his home planets fragments as nothing had come to earth.

I think Richard Pryor used tar. hehehe I remember evil Superman was in that bar flicking peanuts at the bartender.

I would introduce Lex in some way, and then bring him back for a Brainiac movie since those two have history. As long as the Lex they do isn't the Donner Land Baron Lex, Lex Luther is actually a great villain.

He would have to be the 3rd movie in the trilogy. Darkseid is probably the worst of all of Supes's enemies.

unless they made him weak, supes couldn't take darkseid on his own. would have to be the event that leads to the justice league IMO. darkseid would shatter supes skull with a solid punch (comic version, not cartoon version. 1 ver is an alien, the other is an actual god).
