Soon I'll have a new desktop here at work, probably just a nice new dual core with 8GB ram.
The cool thing is that I'll also be getting a quad core server to play with, Nehalem 5520 based with at least 8GB. This will be fun! ;)

Nice. I really want to try out a DP Nehalem Xeon someday.

Sweet :), what clock speed is it?

I look forward to seeing the output from that, even if means you'll pull away even faster from me :p;)

Congrats on your 10yr SETI anniversary btw

After all these years you are still a WIZ!

:p

I wanted to post something to see if my current setup is working. Looks like it is doing just fine. :)

I'm sitting in my Lazy Boy Recliner about 15 feet away from my Pioneer Elite (snicker snicker) 50" HDTV and surfing the web. Man, how did I ever live without a 50" computer monitor?

Of course it is a little difficult typing one-handed, left-handed.

Yes, this my year of rebuilding it seems and I'm not talking about computers. My recent back surgery seems to have gone well so now I'm sitting here with my right arm in a sling due to Rotator Cuff surgery done almost three weeks ago. :Q

I trying to become the "Six-Million Dollar Man" ... part by part. :D

hehehehehe...

some days are filled with mind numbing data retrieval, like today was

then there are the days when you can fire up 8 or 16 instances of seti on one box just to see how many wu/hour it will finish...
(soon, very very soon)

Smoke - glad to hear rhe rebuilding is coming along... I suppose you shouldn't overclock as the downtime would really hurt your productivity!

;)

Shoulder joint. The rotator cuff is the part of your shoulder that the ball of your humerus bone fits. Falls and the pounding of many thousands of shotgun shells can lead to problems. Oh, I forgot you don't have guns in GB anymore ... but in the olden days. :p

edit: Now back to Wiz's new computers. :D

Still in the ordering process... Selecting vendor etc...
Wow - don't go with Dell when you need a lot of ram!!

Yes, I've had some shots into those joints that did a world of good.
Maybe there wasn't as much damage to mine, I feel for ya though!
