New Macbook Air...

My daughter just got a new Macbook air. I come from the windows world and am NO help to her when it comes to neat tricks and tips for it...

Any suggestions from all you Mac users out there?

If she is used to Windows, BetterTouchTool and Spectacle are must haves. Also, if she uses Spotify, Spotify Notifications is another great tool.

As far as most general computing, there is little to no real learning curve. If you understand how to use a mouse and the difference between right and left click, you're fine.

Turn on tap to click in the System Preferences (System Preferences > Trackpad), it will make life easier.

Tap/click with 1 finger=left click, tap/click with 2 fingers=right click

I'm in the same boat--I just got a MBP for work. One thing I missed was being able to drag a window to the top or side and have it "snap" to max or half screen respectively. My buddy recommended 'Cinch', and I've been really liking it! GL!

There's also Divvy, which is available on both Windows and OS X. You invoke it with a key command, and then can draw on a grid where you want the window to be, and at what size. You can also use shortcuts for specific settings.
