new mac, same iphone got problems

I got a new macbook and when I plug my iphone in it seems like it only wants to reset the iphone. I have so many contacts, photos and songs that I'd rather transfer onto this mac but am unsure how I'd do this. Can you guys help or suggest some solutions to mitigate the data on the iphone into itunes?

Your best bet is to copy all the stuff from the old mac to the new mac.

Yea.. I don't think there is anything that will natively work with iTunes. You'll probably have to do it through a third party app, like TheStu suggested. I don't know why they don't allow you to copy the info back from your iPhone, but I'm sure it's a limitation with DRM for music, and such, and is just carried over to the other settings.

this has to be one of the most irritating aspects of iAnything. It has happened so much that a system gets wiped before being able to sync back.
