new mac mini (DUO-based)

Mac-haters just have never used the OS. Or if they have, they haven't used it to its' full extent.

That said, whoever decided to go from dedicated to integrated graphics should be shot in the head.
 
I really don't care about the integrated graphics. I'll continue to game on my X2 system, I would just use the mini for multimedia and stuff. Oh and my kids would use it as a homework/project computer. They love to mess with the apples at CompUSSR.
 
Apple is going to sell a $99.00 leather case for Ipod, and there is no doubt they'll sell a ton of them. They also managed to piss off all the third-party accessory makes who make sound docks for the Pod. LOL @ Apple sheep.
 
Anyone have ideas on how the integrated graphics will handle high def video? This would be my main concern with it.. 3d gaming I'll stick to my pc as well.
 
$800 for the Core Duo mini? You could get a new Dell E1505 for a couple hundred more, have a nice 15" screen and KBM and be using a real OS.

I have to admit the new Mac Minis are awesome. I've owned one before and it worked all the time. The machine never failed on me.

Now, if a company can make one that is Windows-based, I would totally get one. Heck, maybe install one into my car with a 7" touch screen and have my very own multimedia/GPS type of system.

Ya, what's wrong with OSX? Even if you don't like the UI it's got all that lovely unix underneath.
 
I love the fact my $649 Mac Mini sells for ~ $550 on ebay right now and its a year old... i'm considering upgrading.

This is true too. The resell values on Macs are still quite high since you cannot custom build one.

I'm going to be comparing them against each other, and the old mini. Mainly focusing around UI performance and maybe a couple game demos (although the games obviously will be using rosetta). 🙂
