Link.

After testing this new mouse from Logitech I can conclude that this is probably one of the best cordless mouse available on the market. It looks very good and professional and it also feels superb. The tracking is as good as (or maybe even better) as the MX700 and normally it should work on some surfaces where the MX700 didn't work on.

New review at VIA gamers arena link.

I spent an hour or so playing around with zero mouse acceleration and an equal amount of time experimenting with the low acceleration feature. Throughout that entire time I didn?t encounter a single latency or skipping hiccup of any kind, which truly convinced me that Logitech?s FastRF technology is as true as it?s word.

I haven't updated my original thread, but there's lots of reading there.

Also, there is a known delay problem for gamers.
If you pick it up & set it back down (happens alot in FPS games unless you have a huge mousepad), there will be a delay in the mouse's response, which often means getting fragged.

You know I keep hearing this, but THERE IS NO LAG when I try it and I game a lot, don`t know why people say that.I`ve also heard/read that there are two different REV versions of the MX1000,don`t know if this is true or not.

n7,I have posted a few times in the thread you`ve linked and I disagree with virtually everything he says, now my MX1000 is only a week old so maybe it`s a different REV model like I`ve meantioned above, however I can`t reproduce the lag even by copying his video clips, besides I`ve not met any gamer that games like that in his video clips.

Also as you can see in the reviews no lag ;).

Not everyone is having that problem; in fact, it may be only on the originally released mice; i really haven't followed the stories recently. to know anything for sure.

However, i was just mentioning it becase there were intitally quite a few people having issues.

Point taken, but there`s more MX1000 owners that have no lag problems,I`m betting that there was two different REV models of the MX1000,hence why there`s so much confusion and disagreement.

However way you look at it`s interesting, I`ve given up on trying to get lag with my MX1000,I`ve tried everything, only way that`s possible for me is with a flat battery ;).

I have not gotten the problem either. I am 100% satisfied with mine so far and I do an extreme amount of gaming.

i just got mine by fedex today at my doorstep, using it now, it works great. haven't noticed any lag or any malfunctions etc. But then again i've only had it for like couple hours heh. it has a great ergonomic feel to it and its cordless.

One of the things I didn't like about the MX700 is the heavy feel to it once the batteries are in place. I really prefer a lighter mouse and have been using the corded MX310 for about a year now and love it.

However, I checked out the store model of the MX1000 in Staples the other night and really liked the ergonomics. Since the battery in the MX1000 can't be removed, then I assume it would have been present in the store model.

Given that, the MX1000 feels much lighter than a fully loaded MX700. For those that have used both, can you confirm this?

Yes it`s slightly lighter then the MX700,infact if you compare the MX1000 to the MX510 it`s about 2 ounces heavier.

yeah mx1000 is definitely lighter since it uses a lithium-ion battery to charge and not those crappy AA you have to replace every other month >=| Although the battery cannot be removed, the li-on battery should last about 5 years without replacement and by then I'm sure I'll want to get a new/better mouse.

Thanks why I bought the MX510 instead. I just gave up on wireless mices since I figured out in the end that the wire really doesn't bother me. For $29.99 shipped from Amazon.com, the price of the MX510 was hard to beat. But trust me, if the MX510 had not gone onsale, I would have gotten the MX1000.

Hello.

I recently purchased the Logitech MX1000 and thought I'd give my feedback.

First of all, my workspace isn't very big, cords have been an annoyance as long as I can remember. Long ago I had a cordless ball-mouse which broke, leaving me with a cheap infrared corded mouse because I didn't care enough to buy a better one. Well, I was at the local Best Buy and the mice caught my eye.

I was originally looking at the MX510 because of all the good reviews, but again, I didn't want to have a corded mouse anymore. I had also heard some bad rumors about the MX1000 so I decided to buy it and see for myself.

First of all, the videos showing the MX1000 cursor dead during a "U-test" weren't accurate for my MX1000. I've tried to replicate that test in wide Us and very steep, almost Vs (which of course would never happen in the real world anyways) and yet I couldn't achieve a dead cursor no matter what I tried. Either the video creator had a defective/abnormal MX1000 or else they fixed the problem in a newer revision. That out of the way, this mouse is extremely precise, as far as I can tell. No erratic behavior, and very fluid motion.

This mouse has a nice look and feel to it too, and when you do as much editing/gaming as I do with a mouse, you'll really appreciate the design. Notably, the thumb rest is low enough to avoid accidental button presses and high enough to quickly press them when you need them. Feel is definately important to a primary input device.

I don't have any complaints with this mouse. :)

I just ordered a new PC to play EQ2 on and also got a new keyboard for it.

Still need a new mouse.

Right now I'm using the Mx 700 which is great. It's many years old though and sometimes when I put it onto the charger I have to sort of play with it for about 5 minutes until it starts to charge. Right now though its totally broke... Whenever I try to charge it, the light blinks red instead of green. Whatever, no problem, I just use standard batteries.

Anyway...

I want to get another MX 700 for my new PC, that is going into the living room. But seeing how there is a better version of it, the 1000, I figure I would rather get that.

However, aside from all the praise it has gotten, I read a review in CGW that gave it high marks but also stated that the wheel for scrolling does not work in games.

Because of that I am hesitant to buy one as that scrolling wheel is a crucial part in games. Infact, all the additional buttons are. On SWG that scroll button was used for /attack and the other two buttons for changing target and auto-run.

So those buttons working in games is a must.

No one seems to bring it up so I'll thought I'd ask...

Does the wheel work in games? And what about the additional buttons on the mouse? Can they be programmed and used in games?

i'm willing to bet that its a miscommunication. the lag peope talk about is the pick up/set down lag, not for normal movements when you have contact with the service. it takes about half a second for it to start responding once you set it down. not a big deal in windows programs, but for some people with FPS's, it can be a real annoyance.

you can test it by putting the mouse down at about 45 degree angle, you'll notice that it doesn't respond instantly. i won't believe this has anything to do with the wireless part of it, but rather the laser sensor... or at least that would be my guess.

i can state firmly, the mx700 does not have that problem, not sure why a newer model that problem crops up all of sudden.

I just bought the mx1000 from Best Buy on Sat. It was $79.99, I think and had a $10.00 rebate. I went in Sunday to pricematch the OM add. So I got the mx1000 for ~53.xx - 10MIR = 43.xx.

I didn't notice a revision on mine but I've had no "lag" problem at all.
Just take yours back to OM and go to BB and pricematch.

Bojangles139 ,I still have no lag,my settings for the software are on medium and base receiver is about 2ft from my MX1000,btw I do game online in games like TFC,UT etc so would notice lag.

I do pick my mouse up from my pad when I want to recentre it on the pad.....lol don`t really need a pad with my MX1000 since it works great on my desk, however I paid quite a bit for my mouse pad awhile back and hate to see it collecting dust in the desk draw.

FYI I was using a corded mouse before so would notice any lag ;).
