New Logitech F510 Rumblepad vs. Xbox 360 Controller for PC?

Have any of you tried the new Logitech F510 Rumblepad? I just bought an Xbox360 controller haven't even opened it yet, but I saw this new Logitech unit and I'm wondering if I should exchange it.

I bought it mainly to play DiRT2, but may use it for Batman AA soon.

Any input would be appreciated,

Chris

i would always choose the xbox one because so many games are made with the default controller setup as the xbox one. saves a lot of headaches.

I haven't tried that Logitech one but many PC games have Xbox controller support built in and automatically configure the controls for the 360 controller.

Well, I thought the same thing, but the new Logitech F series have a switch that puts them in Xinput mode and will be seen as a Xbox 360 controller. It also has a DirectInput mode for older games.

I found one review last night where the guys said that the vibration on the F710 was not as strong as the X360 controller. I also opened the X360 controller I bought and I would probably be using the left analog and right buttons most often. They seem to be in a more comfortable position than the F series controls would be. I think I'll just stick with it.

Thanks,

Chris

It depends on which controller layout you prefer. Both are Xinput so games can't tell the difference (but Logitech has a switch for old style joystick mode).

To me, the central stick is much much better for racing games. I can't control a car properly with the Xbox stick position. The difference is with Xbox you're moving your thumb in an arc, with Playstation style you're bending your thumb.

I've flown RC planes for the last few years, so I'm used to using my thumbs in an arc. Not to mention with the center sticks you have a longer reach to the analog triggers.

Meh, just stick with the 360 controller.

I was going to purchase one but got lucky enough to find DS3 drivers and just downloaded, installed and worked like charm for JC2.
