New Liteon CDRW will not read any disks - Any Help?

I have a brand new SOHR-5239V Lite On 52x32x52x cdrw that is recognized by my bios, and windows xp. it will not read any disks though. any clue as to why this happens?

Are you positive the jumpers are set right? Master/slave/CS jumpers... Check that. And do you really have to bump like that?

yes the jumpers are set correctly.

Some lite-on drives don't play well with the nvidia ide drivers, I have had to revert them to the default windows ones to get the drives to read anything.
