Godfather: Coda "The Death of Michael Corleone" (aka. The Godfather Part 3, director's cut?)

Francis Ford Coppola made a rejigged version of GF3. It's five minutes shorter than the original and there's very little difference; the order of scenes has been changed with the beginning of Coda being Michael's first meeting with the archbishop then moving back to the party. A scene with Sofia FC / Mary Corleone has been shortened which is just as well because IMO she was miscast / not a very good actor. The final scene no longer shows Michael dying which is a bit odd considering the name of this version, the scene is is basically the same as the original otherwise, I'm guessing they shot an alternate ending originally and didn't use it.

Coda is neither an improvement or worse than the theatrical version.

Untamed - 6.5/10 - Now streaming on Netflix

Review is based on watching 2-episodes.

6-part series about a Investigative Ranger in Yosemite Park who is working to solve a mystery/crime.
This is chock full of formulaic Hollywood tropes and if you fed all these types of mystery/crime shows into AI and asked for a plot & script - this one would be the result. Nothing ground breaking but its a fun show and easy watching.

While I usually refuse to watch this formulaic garbage, I gave in to watching this because of my time spent backpacking through the Southern Sierras and love of the outdoors.

As an alternative - Wild Crime on Hulu is a documentary series - 4 seasons - on real crimes on National Park land that have been investigated. Very interesting.

Mission Unbelievably Unwatchable https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9603208/reference/

I'm so GLAD that I was too lazy to watch this in cinema like I did the previous one. This was such an unbearable snoozefest that for the first time ever, I had to skip through a mission impossible movie. I can't believe the rating on IMDB. Are people retarded? Or is it mostly just the younger generation? There's so much wrong with this movie that only DigDog could possibly take the time to dissect it and explain what is wrong with it (I lack his patience and focus).

The movie scenes, the story, the belabored exposition in almost every scene on why something needed to be done or how they were going to do it and coming up with stupid time limits (it has to be done in the blink of an eye or the world ends). WITAF???? People do lose their minds when they get older. It's unbelievable that Tom Cruise saw the final cut of this movie and was like, oh this looks awesome!

The only redeeming thing in the entire movie was the extended plane chase and fight scenes at the end. That's all you need to watch, really. Everything else is just not very well done, makes your mind scream at you and question why you are watching what you are watching and just a very poor attempt at decent moviemaking. The director should be ashamed and should never find work again in Hollywood.

Superman: (2025) 7.5/10

1. This is a popcorn movie. Fun for a watch!
2. I think he's really Karl Urban cosplaying as Superman
3. They REALLY nailed the look of Superman flying!
4. Love me some Alan Tudyk!
5. Mr. Terrific was awesome! Great mask! Next movie needs to be a buddy cop movie with him & Superman. Great fight scene. Reminded me of the Quicksilver scene from X-men.
6. Killer graphics. Metamorpho looked awesome! Mr. Terrific's spaceship looked real. We take great CGI for granted these days!
7. Nathan Fillion's haircut was AMAZING lol. He needs his own movie!

Sorry. His was the most cringe looking appearance of all. Something like that would appear in a superhero parody movie. Not a real superhero movie.

Did you see the movie yet? The whole point is that his character is cringe & has poor taste lol. Also, the haircut literally canon, haha!

Yes, saw it. It's OK but I would've preferred something original. Lex Luthor's been done to death and this one was more childish. The dog was GREAT! Supergirl should've featured more in it too.

James Gunn chose the worst Lantern that isn't even in that list.

Nefarious - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14537248/reference/

Really solid 1-set film in a similar vein to The Man From Earth, all dialogue-driven.

Jordan Belfi is a clinical psychiatrist. He's stepping in for another doctor (who committed suicide) to sign off on the execution of violent criminal Edward Brady. During the interview with Brady, to assess if he is sane enough to be executed, Brady reveals to be Nefariamus, an ancient demon who has possessed Brady's body.

As someone who's unfortunately born in Rome and had to take catechism classes, i know the "lore" the dialogues are based on, and this is just an example of what you get if you have an intelligent person analyze the christian creation mythos - the war in heaven, the purpose of humanity, and the nature of free will.

Fantastic performance by Sean Flanery as Nefariamus the demon, and solid dialogues from .. well, two writers who seem to be focused on (US) Christian films.

Does suffer a bit from pacing issues, as all these types of films do. Let's say, that if you had to choose, then Man From Earth is better than Nefarious. Still, solid flick. Miles better than that pile of shit being Devil's Hour, which is essentially the same thing but worse and with bad time travel.

Bad Guys 2 - 8/10 - I liked the first one and thought this one was actually better.

Elio - 9/10 - I liked this movie a lot just a solid feel good movie with some incredible visuals as you'd expect from Pixar.

My wife liked Bad Guys 2 better and Elio and my kids liked both of them a lot.

Dog was A+

Wasn't sold on Lex Luthor. Like...you want half of some third-world country when you have a pocket dimension & clone soldiers in super-suits?!

I'm a big Nathan Fillion fan, so I'm hoping to see a full movie haha
