did they waste Linda Hamilton

Soooooo much potential with that one!!

The show really needed another 1.5 seasons. I liked how they filled in the age gap of the OG cast by having Mr. Whatsit recruit fresh hosts & felt like they could have tied Henry's back story in for another season with that.

At least we got graduation closure with this guy LOL

In regards to Stranger Things Season 5, the dumbest thing I've ever seen in a show or a movie may just be...

When Derick won in a tug of war with Holly, against Vecna. I mean he is literally a dude with super powers who destroyed an entire military with the snap of his finger just a few episodes earlier, and then a 10 year old fat out of shape kid is stronger than him in a tug of war. It was the most facepalm worthy part of the entire series.

There were just a lot of scenes that felt similar, but not quite as extreme as that one, in all of season 5, which completely took me out of it at parts.

Lets keep name calling and Politics out of this thread. Plenty of other sites and places for that.
Politics goes hand in hand with movies as movies reflect society and the most important issues in our time. Are you upset that a poster brought up that the right-wing evil shit in this country is pissed off at one battle after another and then they were called out for how shitty they are?

- Let's not forget The military just letting the whole gang go with no explanation at the very end despite Hopper and Nancy killing a bunch of soldiers and Kay very obviously being a bad lady who all ends justifying means.

The Smashing Machine - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11214558/

currently 6.5/10 on IMDb and i have to agree that that's an appropriate rating.
The plot is weak; it's the story of IRL fighter Mark Kerr, one of the pioneers of MMA. And, that's it. He's got a wife who's bitchy. He may have used too many medications. He puts the sport over personal relationships.
These are all common tropes because, well, they happen in real life to most athletes. But The Rock was absolutely fantastic, i mean *as a serious actor*, it's just that the script is really, really simple. He wins. Sometimes he lose. And that's it.

6.5/10 but, recommended. You don't need to watch the whole thing, but just see that Dwayne Johnson can be a competent actor when he wants.

i watched (about an hour of, couldn't make it all the way through)

Virgin Territory - www.imdb.com/title/tt0437954/

vaguely, but very, very vaguely inspired by the Decameron, it's a light erotic comedy starring Anakin Skywalker, and a whole bunch of girls with them titties out.
Also a horrendous Tim Roth that constantly misreads the scene and thinks he's in a "serious" film.
Sort-of in the spirit of Carry On, or the Commedia Sexy Italiana, Hayden Christensen is a scoundrel in medieval italy who runs away from the mean Lord Tim Roth, and winds up in a convent of smoking hot nuns, who all have constant sex with him. There isn't an ounce of realism in the whole thing.

It might actually be a funny comedy for extremely mundane people who live extremely mundane lives and have never had to dig balls of hash out of their own shit. But for the more world-weary, it's just Playboy-TV erotica.

Primate, one of the better horror flick's I've seen. It has plenty of good jump scares and was actually tensely scary. I'm not scared by fake monsters, this is about a family in Hawaii who has a pet chimp who gets bit by a Mongoose who has rabies. So he gets infected and ends up going ape shit. It's extremely violent with some over the top graphic kills. And for me, the thought of a rabid chip hunting you down is legit frightening. For CGI the chip looks good, and his rampage kept me at the edge of my seat. The mother was a lenguistics professor and had taught the chimp to talk using a tablet. At one point he was terroring one of the girls by making it say "Sara Bad" over and over. I've seen news stories about people with pet chimps that flip out and rip there face off. So the plot of a rabit chimp becoming a killer feels plausible. I haven't seen many beliavble horror movies. The last one I saw was 5 Nights At Freddy's 2 which was about animatronics that came to life and started killing folks lol. It was fairly entertaining but not scary in the least to me.

I didn't really know what to expect, but this was a pretty fucking awesome movie.

Is This Thing On, it's a romantic comedy/drama. It had some funny parts, but I just don't think romantic comedies are really my thing. Will Arnett's good in it, but I can't see him in anything without picturing GOB from Arrested Development. That's a compliment to how perfect he was in that role. This has 86% from both critics and audience on RT. So anyone who likes romantic comedies will probably enjoy this. Seeing Will made me think about how I really should go rewatch Arrested Development

I watched Tron: Ares.
it is really a movie for children.
Not a bad movie.
But i got bored and almost fell asleep.

I have seen the original Tron (1982) in the 1990s.
I have seen and own the DVD of Tron legacy(2010).
Those were fun and exciting. :grinning:

Yeah Tron Ares was pretty dumb plot wise and story wise, and the acting is terible. But the visuals were pretty damn incredible and is worth watching for IMO.
