Hi All,
Bought a new LG 22" wide screen monitor over the weekend and it is just great.
But it had this "Certified Windows Vista" sticker on the corner of the screen and when I removed it, their was this sticky residue on the screen.
Would anyone know what I can use to get this stuff off the screen.
I emailed LG but haven't heard from them yet and I might stop by Compusa and tell them and see what they say.

It was on the actual screen and not the plastic surround? Nasty. Try a damp soft cloth. Isopropyl alcohol can damage some screen coatings.

Thanks,
Yea who ever put the sticker missed the bezel and got the screen.
I just got off the phone with compusa where I bought it and thet told me that they sell a LCD screen clearner that will take that stuff off, or bring it in and they will do it for free.
i'll let you know what happens.

Tell them to clean it themselves! Offering to sell you something to take their sticker off is typical. Bunch of chancers.

If its an LG screen, and he bought it at CompUSA, then the sticker isn't CompUSA's, they have no responsability in having to clean it, they didnt put the sticker on the screen. LG did. They are just trying to help, offering to do it for free is already above and beyond what they are expected to do in that situation. Offering to sell him something is merely another option, if he did not want to bring the monitor back in.

With Westinghouse's 37" 1080P down in the $1100 range, 22" isn't really that insane anymore. Just remember, ideally you're sitting three times the visible height away from the screen.

Of course it is their responsibilty. They are responsible for their own goods. If their suppliers does something dumb like putting stickers on a screen, they must of course tell them to stop. This isn't the end customers responsibility!
There are laws for these kind of things in most countries. In the US as well, I hope!

WD40 will get the residue off without hurting the screen, then you can use some Sprayway glass cleaner to clean up the residue.
