New Large Moniter

uberowo's right. The subwoofer has the biggest magnet of all your speakers, and they're usually not shielded. It's a bad idea to put it near the CRT, but I don't see how it would cause your CRT to stop functioning or get blur. If that's the problem, you should be experiencing weird rainbow colors all over your screen instead. Anyway, definitely take it away from your monitor, at least a couple feet.

Just to clarify, these are computer speakers, and I've never had any problems with my previous CRT. Also, the blurring was completely uniform across the screen.

Do you guys still think it could be my speakers?

(by the way, it's stopped blurring/going out of focus for the past few hours.

I don't mean to beat this into the ground, but it seems so bizarre that it could be caused by computer speakers. There aren't a whole lot of other places I can put them on my desk. I moved the speakers away, but the subwoofer is keeping the montier at eye'level.

Anyway, I've seen what magnets do to moniters, the rainbow and the distortion, but this is just the whole thing getting out of focus. It happened again today, but only once so far. I just want to know whether or not I should send it back.

Move your speakers, especially your subwoofer, away from your monitor and see if it still does that. I don't think magnets will cause the CRT to be out of focus, but just try it anyway.
