You can already play the other campaigns in multiplayer >_>

This is just an official way to do it ;)

And if they try to pull some crap & it's not free, you can be sure i'll be playing them anyway, as i'm not buying something that shoulda come built into the game.

your string table differs.

Make another set of folders, I got that error also when I first ran the .exe.
;)

I think everyone is jumping to conclusions here about PC updates to L4D costing money, but if I had to, hell I'll pay for it and I already play Death Toll and Dead Air on Vs.

All the people whining in this thread about PC updates costing anything need to get a reality check. Development costs money, look at how many hours you've spent playing this game and tell me you haven't gotten your $50 worth.

Yes, we all know that PC modding has been free for years in addition to content updates but if you want your favorite developers to continue making games then support them.

They should have charged less for the game in the first place if they want people to pay for the expansions

The game was not a 50 dollar game in its current state

Agreed. Part of the reason I got it was the promise of downloadable content, and given Valve's history of supplying said content free of charge I (and many others) assumed it would be included in the $50 we paid for the game.

Realistically, it will be free for the PC and pay for the 360. It would be free for both, if Microsoft would let valve do that, but IIRC, they don't allow free DLC for the 360.

This is true M$ forces the DLC to cost $ on Xbox 360. You can quote me on this IT WILL BE FREE FOR PC. I know this because valve wants to release a major update on the 360 for TF2 for free but M$ is forcing them to charge(found this in a article at shacknews)

Exactly. Valve always gets good on the free downloadable stuff later on. This game was a $20 tops. I paid $45 for it. I don't even touch the game any more and haven't since early December. It's just too boring right now unless I can find enough of my friends on at one time which is hard cus most of my friends play TF2 which is endless fun.

It damn well BETTER be free. Its a fun base of a game but the content is thin as hell. The only reason I paid $50 for demo amounts of content is I believed, like many others, that the rest of the game would trickle out for free. Its bad enough you have to beta test all of Valve's patches for them. I'm not paying anymore money for this. TF2 still only costs $20 and got a lot more rolled out for it. CS:S and DoD:S rolled out a lot of new content later as well. It was not unreasonable to expect the same for this game.

Charging for it would also schism the community resulting in a drastic reduction of other players available to play the new content with you. Imagine you've got a good friend group and you buy the map but no one else does...how often are you going to play it then exactly? Or say they all buy it and you don't...after you end up left out for awhile you're just going to stop playing the game or leave the group.

Micro-transaction crap just kills online gaming communities by dividing them into tiny weak pieces. You can sell levels and maps to people playing single player games with few ill effects but the collateral damage in multiplayer games is there.
