available for rent,i will like to tell you that am interested.I am

I do not smoke nor drink,i have been to some
countries but this will be my first visit to the US.And as such i love
learning about new cultures and customs in particularly.I have
promising and rising profile in the banking industry here in Africa,i
live a straight life am sure you know what i meant but i dont have
anything against peoples way of life.I dont mind if the place is
furnished or not,i will work that out upon my arrival.

Also i will like to tell you that if this my trip will be sponsored
by my boss and every expenses will be paid to the last cent.Pls i will
like us to work things out asap as my arrival is just around the
corner, pls send me the details of this accomodation such as
amount/month,utilities,its condition and the exact date for move in.I
actually saw it in ad but i like to double check with you.I look
forward to reading from you so soon.
Thanks.

I'm fairly sure it's a scam, I just can't figure out how he would get money from you. Assuming you got his first and last months rent before giving him the keys, I'm not seeing how you could lose... unless it was furnished and he cleaned the place out.

Yeah, I can't figure out the angle on this one. I thought that it was fairly amusing, but I can't think of what the scam would be, and I don't have a ton of stuff to steal anyway.

The only thing I would be able to guess, and it's really a stretch, would be some kind of abuse of squatters rights laws, and then him trying to extort money from you to get him to leave.

Maybe he plans on staying for a while and not paying rent, knowing that eviction will take a while.

Or maybe he's interested in your place.

old scam
he has a money order for the amount of first, last months rent + additional funds on said check
then asks u to wire him the difference cuz he needs that to "buy a plane" ticket or something to that effect
he never shows up, you lose out.
