Kimbo wins by tapout (strikes) at 19 seconds of the first round. What an animal. Granted his opponent Bo Cantrell was even at 10 wins and 10 losses for his career, it's impressive regardless. I wonder who's next for Kimbo, I still think he's got a lot to prove.

VIDEO

I was expecting a longer fight, it seemed kinda fishy that Cantrell tapped out the instant he hit the ground. It appeared he wanted nothing to do with Kimbo, and just came for the paycheck.

Here's another VIDEO of Kimbo vs. Ray Mercer.

The other noteworthy fight was Nick Diaz vs. K.J. Noons (who?) and Diaz got dismantled pretty bad, and lost due to a bad cut.

ya I saw it and was disappointed... I'd like to think a good MMA fighter could really have their way with him, like that one youtube fight of him vs cop/kindaMMA guy. The MMA guy wasn't even allowed to get him on the ground in that one and he did ok. This Cantrell guy just fell to the ground and gave up, although it was a pretty nice hit to the side of the head with a forearm by Kimbo.

edit: the pats wont win this week, guaranteed :p

Haha, on wikipedia "Kimbo defeated Bo Cantrell in what appeared to be pre-determined fixed bout, as Bo was seen to be tapping-out while face down before Kimbo even laid a glove on him."

I don't think it was a work. He does take a good right to the side of his head before he hits the ground and falls kinda straight, like a tree going down. Who knows. Lets see this guy fight someone a bit better, like a Ricco Rodriguez or Frank Mir. Former heavyweight glory boys on the back side of their careers. Hell, might as well throw CroCop in that mix too.

Nick Diaz got schooled? That sucks. I think he is one of the better fighters out there. Of course he probably wasnt stoned for this fight, which would explain a lot.

Peace

I didn't think he tapped ... it looked like he was trying to protect his head and his hand slipped off ...

Kimbo is intimidating as fsck!

The guy has quit quickly in matches before. I don't think it was a work. I just think the guy showed up for a payday and quit the first chance he got.

so far kimbo has done against has beens and nobody's. should be interesting when he fights someone in t here prime and in good shape.

Also UFC signed Brock Lesner. that guy is a monster. it would be intertaining to have kimbo vs Lesner.

Wow I didn't know Mauro Ranallo was commenting for EliteXC. He's a great commentator.

this pretty much sums it up. he fills empty milk jugs with sand and works out that way. He also manages to eat healthy, when he finds table scraps, he removes the skin off the half eaten drumstick before eating the chicken.

Hey speaking of Frank Mir and Brock Lesnar, they're gonna be fighting at UFC 81 on February 2nd, 2008.

It was either a work or the guy just plain sucks. Either way it's not good. WTF happen to the Kimbo / Tank fight? Instead they give Kimbo this crap?

Lesnars UFC debut. should be intersting. he is fighting a older fighter on his way down. if he is still as thick as he was in WWE i don't see how he can do to well.

Kimbo hit him twice, right uppercut followed by a right hook as he was going down that also had a bonus forearm thrown in the follow through.

There comes a point in time where you're aware you'll be unable to defend yourself if you get up.

I'll say this is another difference between these bouts and boxing. In boxing if you get dinged you have a chance to run, hold and cover up to regain your composure. Here if you get dinged there is a far greater chance to lose it all because your opponent can come at you from so many different directions kicks, tackles, and punches with very lightly padded gloves.

I watched the Jimmy Kimmel clip with Kimbo on youtube. It was actually very funny and Kimbo came off as a really likeable guy. I hope he continues to do well.

he does seem like a good guy outside the cage. in a fight though, he is someone you do not want to fuck with lol. in his couple of pro fights, once the bell rings, he gets in a zone and just attacks

never said he was fighting the best, nor did my comments even have anything to do with the quality of his opponents, even though his last 2 opponents actually had mma experience, where he had just about none
