<< SiS' first Athlon chipset, the SiS730, is a highly integrated solution which combines both the northbridge, southbridge, and a 128-bit 3D graphics accelerator into a single 672-pin BGA chip. The level of integration is incredible, as the SiS730 also contains a 56K modem, 10/100Mbit ethernet, a game port, and an IDE ATA100 controller. >>

Check it here
WOW now that is feature packed!! LMK what you guys think!!

virge.....I don't think so. I am nearly positive that those motherboards will be 8 layers, not the 4 that KX133, KT133, and KT133a's are right now. The 760's are 6 layers. The 760mp should be 8....maybe 6 if they do some fancy work.

Plus, if it's a crackrack, you now don't need an NIC, videocard, etc.

I would still go for the 760MP and dual athlons......

🙂

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo..............

but remember, AMD has never done SMP before, so they may not get it right the first time.... also this chipset is more for people with a spare cpu lying around, and Virge's is for people who are building from nothing.

It sure looks attractive to me. A Power Supply, a processor, a floppy drive. That is all it needs for Klinux Kleanup in my crackcabinet. I'll be checking these out (when cash flow becomes positive again). Plus, my daughter needs a new PC soon, anyway.

I found the perfec tsolution ccalvert, work for a mac joint. G4 powerbooks have been dribbling in all this week.🙂

Just found one on Pricewatch, ECS K7-810LM Looks like it only supports the 100Mhz bus and I haven't investigated but I doubt it supports multiplier unlocked chips.

man, for $95 you can have one of these puppys!!! thats less than a 56k modem, LAN, sound, and video card cost!!1 even crappy ones cost more!!! damn, if i only had some cash =( (FS forum keeps taking all my money)

TOOCOOL found a site that's got 'em for $85 a coupla months ago- It simply calls the chipset an "Athlon Chipset" but there is only 1 chip, so I'm pretty sure it's the 730. The setup has an AMR slot and two PCI slots (AMR modem is included- ooooh) I don't know if these support FSB or multiplier adjustments, but I plan on purchasing one of these shortly to put an extra Duron 650 to work. 🙂 These guys also sell Cyrix III CPUs...I'm dying to get one and see how well it performs. More of a morbid curiosity, I guess. 🙂

i'm betting one of the VIA integrated chipsets will have support from more major manufacturers, so its more likely multiplier and FSB ocing are possible from those. though right now the OC ability of the MSI board is not good.

<< The K7SEM is a microATX, socket A board for AMD® K7 processors with FSB speeds to 200MHz. The board will also support the 1.5GHz 'Thunderbird.' It comes with the SiS®730S chipset with integrated AGP 4X. The AGP controller allows for shared memory size to be adjusted from 4MB to 64MB (the default size is 8MB). The SiS®730S chipset also provides ATA/100 support, AC97 audio and the ITE 8705 built-in hardware system monitoring function. The chipset's Super South Bridge supports Ultra AGP and 100/133 MHz FSB speeds. The K7SEM also comes with an RTL8139C LAN chip >>

not bad at all for $88!
