OK...looking to spend some $ here.

What I currently own:

Logitech G9
Apple Aluminum Keyboard

I was really interested in the MS Sidewinder X8...looks like it would just be more comfortable and ergonomic than the G9, plus higher DPI too.

Then I got to looking around and saw the Belkin n52te. Now, my keyboard works fine...no qualms there...but could something like the Belkin give me a bit of a boost as far as gaming is concerned (mainly action games, FPS)? I like that its backlit too, pretty cool. I ask because I use a laptop for gaming and have the keyboard on the palm rest of the laptop (dont like using/wearing down keyboard keys unless I have too) and my hand, although not uncomfortable, seems to be a little "meh" while gaming...

Logitech G9 although it works, I find my bigger hands usually sliding back towards the rear of the mouse and often forget to use the side buttons while gaming. I have these mapped to reload and melee, which is what I WOULD use them for, but they are often out of quick reach once my hand has rested comfortably on the grip. I often end up using "R" on the keyboard to reload and simply forget about melee (which has costed me more deaths than Id like to admit.). In this respect I feel the X8 would prevail.

What are all of your opinions? Better mouse (although G9 works, its not what I would consider "ideal"...but I havent tried the X8 and no one around me sells them :/) or game pad? I almost feel that with more buttons and better placement the reload and melee could be mapped more ergonomically than the keyboard...

Cliffs if you are one of those "TLDR" types:

-Keyboard works but is in a less that preferred posistion. Belkin n52te to the rescue with more and better placed keys/buttons?
-G9 works as a mouse, but not so much a multi-button gaming mouse. Sidewinder X8 to the rescue with better hand placement and easier accessible buttons?

I dont know...AT give me some opinions! Thanks!

If you're only plugging in the keyboard for gaming (and not regular typing), the n52te would be perfect. Otherwise you'd need both devices plugged in, which is too much clutter for my taste.

As far as the mouse, go to Best Buy, Staples, or a similar store and try out whatever they have on display. It sounds like you need a bigger mouse, but the actual size and grip varies from person to person. I like the G9, but I do prefer the size and shape of my G500 a bit more.
